Congrats! We will have to meet up while I am there for the fall CP. I need a Disney dork buddy to do MNSSHP and Food and Wine with.

(Hope you don't take offense to the term disney dork I've used it for a long time to describe myself to people.)

That is soooo great!! If you wouldn't mind, how did you get that position? I am a teacher from Philadelphia that is looking to relocate and would love to work at a resort at WDW! Is it an entry level position? I would LOVE to hear about the process. Thanks and good luck!

Same here! (well except the teacher and Philly part lol) I have been wanting to work in a Disney resort for a long time. I would love to hear about the process! Would it be an advantage that I work within a hotel on a cruise ship? Congrats!! :)

Thanks so much everyone!! I'm beyond excited and I promise not to forget about all of you. =)

wilkeliza...I'm definitely a disney dork too and don't worry, you'll find plenty of us when you head down for your college program! We definitely should find a time to meet up while we're both down there!

As far as getting the position, it's through the disney professional internships program so unfortunately, it's only open to those either enrolled in school or recent graduates (as in my case). You must be taking classes at the time of your application. I did a CP in 2010 and have been a rep and getting a PI has been my plans for after graduation so I'm so happy that it's finally becoming a reality!! Let me know if you guys have any other questions about it. =)

THANKS SO MUCH AGAIN!!

Congratulations!!!! I actually applied for a few Disney PI's and I was wondering about how long it took you to hear back with a decision from them. I applied originally in early March, had my 1st interview, and I am still awaiting a decision.

When did you apply/how long was it before you heard back? Thanks!

Sidenote: I know I am still in consideration because of the status that shows on my internship "dashboard" online.

Thanks!! And good luck to you too!! Hopefully we'll get to be down there together! Which one did you apply for?? I had my first interview in early February I believe and then a second (panel) interview in the middle of March and I heard from them on April 6th about the offer. I know there are still ones that people are waiting to hear back from but the lady that gave me my offer told me they're making most of their final decisions within the next week or two so hopefully you'll hear back really soon!!!

I applied for the pricing internship, gift card operations internship, and resort revenue management internship. I had my first interview for all of them. Hopefully I will hear something soon! The wait is killing me!

Congrats to you! There have been some very active members of wdwmagic who also happened to work front desk resort jobs and they provided us all with some really useful information back in the day. Turkey Leg Boy and Disney Jill are just a couple who come to mind, but there have been several others. Best of luck to you!

Congrats!! Thats so exciting! :sohappy:

quick question for you (if you don't mind haha): I got accepted into the current spring season for the college program, but could not go because my school will take away my scholarship :( . So I'm planning on applying again for the semester after I graduate. Would I be able to do a professional internship after that, or would I still have to be enrolled in school? If only my school would recognize the college program as something other than a "leave of absense" (ie: taking away of scholarships/financial aid). Thanks in advance though! I don't mean to take over your thread, haha.

Hey, sorry to butt in, but that is what I did. You can do a professional internship the semester after you graduate, as long as you are enrolled in classes when you APPLY. I am graduating this may, but I am in the running for 4 PI's that are in the fall. So you're good.

No worries about crashing the thread, I'm more than happy to help! And, you certainly can do that! You can do one of two things. Your last semester of school, apply for the disney college program and go on that program right after you graduate. While you're down there you will have the option of apply for a PI which you would switch to after your CP was over. Or, you can skip the step of applying/going on a college program and apply/go right to the PI. Does that make sense? Good luck either way! I'm sorry to hear about your school and the scholarship. =(
