I'm computerless!

Well our computer died...dell couldn't figure out whats wrong with it or fix it so they're replacing it for free. Not a bad deal eh? I don't think they would be so generous if they knew it was all because I put a memory chip in backwards. :veryconfu


Oh well no one has to know!

In the mean time I've been having internet withdrawl!! I'm using my moms lap top right now but I'm rarely able to get on here because she uses it for work. Not to mention I can't chat with anyone.

I don't think I can go much longer without my PC!! :hammer:

But it is!!! My life consists of classes, video games, the internet and sleeping.

How long did it take you before you got dell to crack? It took my laptop 6 motherboards, and one lengthy email to the Better Business Bureau.

Only Josh would go and stick a chip in backwards....men should really break out those instructions....or maybe pay attnetion to what they are doing!

Yeah!!!!! That's the trick! It's amazing what you find out when you read the directions. I also found out that the clutch on my motorcycle is on the left and the brake is on the right. No wonder I've been having so much trouble.:hammer: :hammer:

That's funny...I went away for the weekend with some friends one time...and my mom loved my yellow bug so much...but at the time, I hated anyone driving my car...(I mean...it was MY baby ) So, with me gone...she had her chance... (She took it on Sunday morning...I got home Sunday night and my car wasn't in the driveway)

I go into the house and she says..."You're gonna kill me" I said.. "WHAT DID YOU DO WITH MY BABY???" And she said..."Well, she's ok...but...she's not here"...so I said... "WHERE IS SHE???"

See, my mom was caught red handed because she didn't read the instruction manual.

She drove it to the store...and didn't know how to get out of her parking spot...because it was a stick...and she didn't know how to put it in reverse :lol:

(In VW's...you have to push the stick DOWN (not back...but physically push it down) and way up to the left...and she had never seen anything like that before :lol:

Your mother would not have gotten very far with my old Saab. In order to remove the key from the ignition, you must place the stick in reverse... (on which you must pull up on the shifter collar)... Most people put thier shifter in 1st when they park thier car, but actually R is the proper gear. But for those who put it in first, they'd have a heck of a time trying to get the key out! LOL

My mother wouldn't even have got THAT far...she wouldn't be able to find the ignition :lol: (Saab's have it in the center console right???) (My Cougar had a shifter ring that you needed to pull up to throw it in Reverse too....LMAO...I just remembered SHE HAD PROBLEM WITH THAT ONE TIME TOO :lol: )

LOL... that's right... I loved having the ignition down there... so convenient... and the best part... I didnt have a huge keychain dangling on my knees!!

The guy that came here replaced the video card, motherboard, power supply,modem and memory. It still didn't work after all that so he called Dell up....he was pretty ed when they finally talked to him. They had him on hold for about 45 minutes. So I'm sure he was happy to get our PC replaced for free hehe. Dell lost their number one spot on the....um I guess what you would call consumer PC list because of their bad customer service.

Freak I'm in Rhode Island Freak so technically I'm not far but I'm not driving all the way up there to borrow it. lol Thanks for the offer.

I'm glad you're all so ammused by my predicament....I'm going on 7 days without a PC. I'll be scarred for life!
