Hi everyone!
I am having the best day in the world now :D

I've been sick the last 3 days and still wasn't feeling great today. But, i've spent my sick time on the computer planning out my trip for next week and today I traveled up to the Disney Store to purchase my ticket. And not just any ticket... An Annual Pass so that I can visit anytime I want for the next year! :D

Who would have thought spending almost 500 dollars on a piece of plastic could feel so good? Anyways, I just needed a place to share my excitement and I know theres no better place than WDWMagic! Thanks everyone!

Congratulations! I remember when I got my first AP, I did not realize the huge discounts that you got on hotels. So, make sure that you are aware of them (usually 40% off when there is availability). The hotel discounts are usually worth the price of the AP itself, especially over two visits!

The AP hotel discounts, though, are not always announced until about 4-6 months ahead of a date. So, it is often worthwhile to wait for them in most seasons, except the busiest. During busy seasons you can still make your reservations ahead of time and just call in and ask them to adjust them to an AP rate after it is announced if it is available, but I don't usually do that since I don't want to deal with unnecessarily high deposits while I wait.

Anyhow, there are great discounts that come with the AP. You usually get about 15% off all the watersports, and 10% off at World of Disney, and several other worthwhile discounts at even non-Disney stores on DW property, like Rainforest Cafe (which give APers 10% off meals). So, it ALWAYS pays to ask if you get a discount.

You also now qualify for purchasing the Disney Dining Experience, which costs about $60, but gets you and up to 9 others 20% off MOST meals at Disney restaurants, INCLUDING restaurants in the parks. That is nice, and useful if you have a group with you, but it is not useful if you don't come often or have a group with you...

Anyhow, just wanted you to know, so that you could use your AP to its full potential.

For more information, check out Mousesavers, which is easier to navigate than the Disney AP site, and gives you the straight info....

For hotel discounts: http://www.mousesavers.com/disneyresorts.html

For other AP info: http://www.mousesavers.com/otherwdw.html#apdiscounts

The sleeve that they give you at WDW for the AP itself will also have more info on current discounts. Hope this helps.

Congratulations on the AP! How far do you live from WDW? Do you travel to the world alot? I always thought about getting an AP, but I just watch for the individual deals and get Base tickets. That works for us.

Have fun on your trip and hope you get to feeling better before you go!
