Illuminations

We ate at Biergarten one night and came out about 30 minutes before Illuminations and had a great place to watch. Although you can't see it from inside the restaurant.

The Rose and Crown is indeed an excellent vantage point for watching Illuminations. However, an outside table cannot be booked or guaranteed.

That's the only one you could potentially "see" it from the table. The others around WS are inside, and you'd need to make time for getting outside before 9:00. Usually the 8:00 seating at any restaurant will give you enough time to eat and see the show.

Mmmm perhaps at none peak times but during the peak park times (Easter for example) people are staking out their spot around the lagoon well before 8pm

I would say Rose and Crown Pub in the United Kingdom. Arrive early and ask for a seat on the porch or deck outside. We sat on the porch for Illuminations last April and it was a wonderful experience! It's not guaranteed you get to sit out there though, so be sure to arrive early and ask for it. Hope you have fun!

We FINALLY booked Rose & Crown for Illuminations this year. I've always wanted to do it, because everyone tells us how great it is, and now we finally are. I'm not sure which night it is though, but we're leaving in 24 days. Illuminations is my favorite fireworks show, and seeing it at the Rose & Crown apparently makes it better. Gahhh, I can't wait!

It is a good spot, and I hope you are able to get a seat outside to fully enjoy. I will caution you however that there is a real chance that you won't get a table out back...so please don't expect it.

One other challenge....wind/breeze. Depending on which way the wind may be blowing, some spots become very smoky and visibility is greatly reduced. I have on different occasions moved from France/England to Mexico due to the smoke drift.

I remember the days, back before they messed up Illuminations by adding this cockamamie 'Reflections of Earth' mumbo jumbo. We used to have to stake out a spot an hour in advance... in early December - when the parks weren't busy! Ah yes, we used to end every Disney Day with Illuminations. But sadly, that era has long since passed. At least I can find some solace in Fantasmic.

We were so lucky to get a table outside at Rose and Crown... It was spitting rain, and so they had to close to tables that are not covered on the porch. They had lost 9 tables or someting like that so our reservation was 45 minutes late. They gave us the best table on the covered porch and it was amazing!
Just make sure they take down the umbrellas so you can see! ( they did it without us asking- so I think its standard proceedure)
