... Or maybe THEY want to decide who gets the "advantage" in the system, rather than having no control over it.

Ah yes - I think I should have put it: It's Disney's attempt to get as much control over the distribution of wait times among guests.

Which reminds me - do you remember how many articles there have been in the past that talked about how one of the biggest issues of guest satisfaction is that people don't like to wait. I wonder how these statements were not in a way inspired by what one of the big purposes of Next Gen is...

Yep. SOMEONE'S gonna have to wait in those lines. They're just going to control who does.

Your second point confuses me. I'm not sure what you mean. Are you saying that NextGen was developed with that complaint in mind, or are you saying NextGen works AGAINST that complaint?

Sorry - I meant that there might have been a bit of a "marketing campaign" going on: because Disney kept telling everyone that this is a problem they work on they now can present the ultimate solution (NextGen) and look really smart. But in order to achieve that they had to make sure that the problem was really prominent in everyone's mind. Of course complaints about long lines are truly a problem. I was mainly thinking of the article some time ago about the underground center that would deploy parades when needed. It seemed a bit strange at that time. Does that make more sense now?

Speculation is all either one of us have to go on with regard to this system and how it will be implimented and what it will mean to all of us.

I have years of WDW's track record and trends backing up what I believe will happen... What about you?

I have the same track record showing that currently, all onsite guests have the same advantage (EMH) when it comes to the park. I am not aware of any park advantage a deluxe guest gets vs. a value guest.

Please educate me.

OH... I forgot about that "instant parade deployment" article. Wow. Yeah, wonder where THAT went. :|

My feelings on where this is all going is not solely a "deluxe vs. value" thing. That's just one sliver of what can/might happen. I've made a number of suggestions of where they could take this.

My comment on their trends has nothing to do with deluxe vs value. It has to do with the changes they've made over the past number of years to keep people on site, and those changes are MANY. This will be an extension of that, and I believe it will reach even further within hotel categories. It's not exactly a quantum leap to get there.

Read any of @ParentsOf4 's comments and ideas on where this is heading. He/She puts it much more eloquently and uses numbers, which are wayyyyy too fancy for me. And I believe his/her thoughts are the future. It's where this is all going.

I think we can certainly agree that the trend is to coerce people to stay on site and this absolutely follows suite.

Where you lost me is to say this is something that will only be available to deluxe guests which was the comment I replied to:

... Unless you aren't staying in a deluxe, or booked under the discount code that lets you pay rack rate, but triples your FP allotment for your trip.

While I can't say it isn't possible because it certainly is, I just don't think we have had any indication that this will be the case yet I have seen many lament the fact that they will be behind the "rich people" staying at the deluxe resorts.

I would hope that when it comes to the parks, those staying at the value resorts would have the same opportunity as those staying deluxe.

Ah. I was using that as a hypothetical. I haven't seen anything anywhere that says that is specifically planned. I'm just giving examples of where I think it's headed.

My trends comment was in general... Not in relation to that point.
