Fast Pass for a fireworks show.... really Disney? Really?

I don't have any problems with the fastpass+ for rides, bit for fireworks? Come on, fireworks should be a free for all. Plus this will probably hurt that hour or so window that you can sneak onto sone rides while the crowds gather for the fireworks.

I have never had an issue with finding a decent place to watch Illuminations: Reflections of Earth. I am also not the type to camp out for more than 15-20 minutes. Maybe there are some really crowded days I have never experienced, but to me this just seems like more fluffing up of the FastPass roster to make FastPass+ look like a value.

Why? this already exists..

The set aside areas for prime viewing with no need to camp out for that prime spot. There are several of these.. and then you have the lagoon side views at R&C, etc.

Sure you can walk up and SEE the fireworks almost anywhere.. but can you get the specific great view you want without any commitment? Not during busy periods. I've commonly seen it 10+ people deep along walkways. And forget finding a place to comfortable sit and see..

There is certainly a demand for this type of access - and Disney has been doling it out for a long time already. FP+ is just another avenue to do so.

And so it begins......the only problem I have with any of this is that we just dont how many are allocated for each attraction. My blief is that Disney can ( will ) steer you wherever they want to by only offering whatever FP they want to.........and dont dare say.....DIsney wouldnt do something like that.

For me it's a three step process. First, I book a water fountain reservation 90 minutes before Illuminations to fill my bottle in case I get thirsty. Then, 33 minutes before the show, I use my FP+ download reservation to get rid of some of The Biergarten over-indulgence from precisely 123 minutes earlier (also reserved a mere 5 months and 6 days before my trip, making Le Cellier an impossibility). Finally, I'm ready to claim my primo viewing spot. I will on occasion comment to the 5 year old behind me that it's an awesome show and his parents really should've planned better.

Why not? Now there is an option other than holding onto a spot for an hour or so before hand. Now you won't have to worry about late arrivals busting into the spot you have been saving for an hour.

Why not do this?

I have been following most of your posts in all the threads regarding fastpass+, and it seems like you're the only one not instantly jabbing it and looking at the whole picture. Thank you for going against the flow.

I just don't get the complaints. I love this idea. Now if I so choose, I can get a good place to watch this without having to wait and so will everyone else if they choose to.

We have been to Disney about 12 times now and we have never had great seats (or places to stand) at any parade or show because we have always chosen not to deal with trying to 'hold' a spot when in many cases you end up fighting with all the folk around you encroaching on that spot. This is great, now we can get a great spot with no hassle. What is the problem with that?

"Daddy, why can't I stand in front of these people? I am much smaller and they can see right over me?"
"Sorry my child. Those are the rich people in front of us. We have to stand here, in second class"

The only way this is true is if they have a section all around the lagoon for this. Do you really believe that will be the case?
