The Book is not wrong, it says that there is an Infra-Red GUIDANCE system. You still need someone to power it up down etc.... Just like when I put my Boat on Auto Pilot, I only tell it where to drive to, I still sit there monitoring everything, adjusting speed, trim etc...

If they had noone inside the globe and a simple computer system then it would be a tremendous safety hazard if somthing went wrong.

There is someone inside the globe, but the whole show is controlled by computers. The stage manager is on top of Mexico, and he(she) can control the whole show so far as lasers and pyro and the globe. Say if it is a real windy day, he can inhibit the aerial fireworks but everything would work as planned.
