Illuminations and the rain

I have only witnessed a postponement and an earlier start, but never a cancellation. Both instances involved severe lightning moving into the area. Since all of the fireworks are electronically controlled, one bad lightning strike could spell disaster.

I have seen all of the parks' fireworks shows in heavy downpour, rain isn't a deciding factor when it comes to fireworks, lightning and extreme winds are.

You would most likely see some old guy building a really big boat before Illuminations was outright canceled.

Nearly every show on property has a "wet" version where certain elements might be changed or removed due to weather, but the fireworks go on largely unchanged unless it gets really, really bad.

We have watched Illuminations when standing in ankle deep water in Mexico at world showcase. It was basically a smoke show with music could hardly see the fireworks. IMO it was a bad show for Disney the should have cancelled that performance!
