Hmmm.... using my amazing crime deduction skills, if hurricane Fay is coming, then Illuminations can't run because it uses fireworks primerily in the show, BUT WAIT! The show can run without fireworks, it has all those lights and fountains and the globe too, BUT WAIT! Isn't the globe rumored to be refurbished? But that's just a rumor, right... BUT WAIT! Mabye the globe is going under refurbishment now:eek:! THAT'S why Illuminations isn't running! Because the show would stink without the globe, the fireworks, and the smoke from the fireworks needed to make the lasers!!!! AHA!!!!!!

:sohappy::sohappy:CONCLUSION: THE GLOBE IS GETTING A REHAB!!!!!!!!!:sohappy::sohappy:

While I'm not at the parks, I live less than 10 miles away and I can say that if Fay is responsible for the cancellation of Illuminations, then it's because of the wind and rain. It's not very serious, just a lot of it and I can imagine it would make things difficult.

It's not like we're in the middle of 100 mile an hour winds or torrential rain, but it's substantial enough to make things a bit difficult round here.

After checking the weather, orange county is under a tropical weather wind advisory...

Just checking the trusty WDWMAGIC weather feed http://www.wdwmagic.com/weather_current.htm and I can see current conditions are 30 - 40 mph winds. The primary threat to IllumiNations not showing is if the crew are unable to safely transport from the marina and tie down the barges into the lagoon. If the barges are out there, it is almost certain that the show will be shown in one form or another. If indeed the show is off for today, I am guessing high wind is probably the cause.

That's what I thought. So how could the globe be worked on that morning?

I don't not trust the OP, but there is nothing on the other sites about ROE tonight. ROE NEVER goes down.

The past few days the globe has been late out into the lagoon. Its been spotted back stage as late as 5pm this week, whereas usually its out by the American Adventure.

The show goes down if they cant get the barges tied down. Winds of 30-40mph which WDW is experiencing today may be enough to prevent that.

Could that be Prep work for the rehab? Or are they doing the rehab a different way?

I would say it's LIKELY that illuminations is indeed cancelled tonight.. I'm sure wishes is as well.. The wind is BAD right now...
I can let you know whats-what in a about 40 minutes.. I live close enough to hear/see Illuminations from home..

Steve.. Not only is anchoring the barges a concern, but with these sustained high winds and higher gusts, it could pose a risk with pyro shells being driven dangerously off course due to the wind conditions.

Is it raining? I wonder if DDCT went on 25 minutes ago.

Absolutely. Based on the weather conditions being reported today I wouldnt be at all surprised if its cancelled. If they could have got the barges out, they could have done the no-pyro show, but with winds as high as they are, if anchoring barges was a problem, its all a no go.
