If you can't ride the rides, how would you spend your day?

Hi everyone,

I'm compiling a list of things to do at Disney in 10 days. Yeah! :)

If you couldn't ride the rides, how would you spend your days at the parks - all parks and any resort - but not Downtown Disney, water parks, or mini golf?

Thanks!

Join me, together we can rule the galaxy.
I would spend a great deal of time with photography, a lot of time.

Tours, WDW has great tours in my experience I would do the Wild Africa Trek and Keys to the World Tour.

More dining, especially those restaurants we never seem to have time to get to.

Take time to fully visit each of the resort properties and take in their extra offerings.

Get a haircut at the Barber Shop on Main St. USA.

Hang out on the Boardwalk at night longer.

Lounge poolside and relax.

Do the shows & fireworks count as rides? If not, I would make a point to see all the shows except Nemo again unless I wanted a 30 minute nap.

No
We're pin traders so we like to visit different resorts and see their pin boards/lifejacket/hat whatever. Take a boat ride down the Sassagoula, ride the monorail loop, sit on the beach and watch the Electric Water Pageant or take a stroll around the Epcot resorts. As mentioned, there are plenty of photo ops, restaurants, lounges, shops etc to keep a person occupied.

  • Absorb the "magic", take the time to notice the little magical details, the sights, sounds and smells. The book, Hidden Magic of Walt Disney World, has tons, although a bit dated now
  • Sorcerers of the Magic Kingdom
  • Hidden Mickeys.....and photo them
We check in too in 10 days! Woohoo! Have a great trip!

I'm bummed that Lion King will be closed. :(

There are 3 books - the one you mentioned from 2009, Journal from 2012, and Trivia from 2013. Which is the best?

Depends on the resort I suppose. I could keep myself pretty busy at AKL for a few days between the two pools, activities, scenery and activities. If I couldn't ride all the rides? Well I guess id be hitting up all the shows then, of course, there is all the people watching. Nothing like a nice pair of sunglasses, a cold drink and some people watching, you know what I'm talking about :D.

When I was pregnant with my now 2 year old I made sure to bring a pillow case with me to have the characters sign. It was a last minute thing. I think if I did it now I would bring squares of plain fabric, pairs of them sewn together on 3 sides and something that would fit inside of the little pouches. Then I would have the characters sign those, one per square, so that when I got home I could make a baby blanket out of them. :) Surely that would make for a happy baby!

I think if I had gone while pregnant with my first son I would have just made sure to absorb the days with my husband, lots of hand holding, parade and firework gazing, show watching, etc. I will say that I didn't feel like there was too much that I couldn't ride when pregnant. I know I sat out on things but it just gave me time to rest my puffy feet while watching the people all around me.
