If I could improve non-WDW Disney parks...

I would figure with all of the hotel rooms at the parks that during the busy summer months they would draw some visitors to a water park. It would greatly improve the parks attractiveness. But, i would understand if they didn't want to put one up because of it being closed for a good part of a year.

I think for now I will leave the water parks to Walt Disney World...

Well, if there going to dark rides, i will agree that they need to be based on some older movies. I am not all impressed with the new Toy Story Mania idea. I thought they could come up with something better then that. There are so many other things they could have done with it. They already have Buz so just update that and build something worth while. I'm not saying it has to be a Everest but something has to be done to MGM to improve its appeal. Update Star Wars and Indiana Jones and the great movie ride. Holy crap those things are out of date.

Excuse me, but these are for attraction ideas for Disney parks outside Walt Disney World. If you want to talk about WDW improvements, go here: http://forums.wdwmagic.com/showthread.php?t=53038.

If you have any ideas of how to improve non-WDW Disney parks, feel free to put them down here, that's what it's there for.

I think one of the stateside Disney parks should get the Disney character additions coming to HKDL's version. But which one should it be? Disneyland or Walt Disney World? I'm thinkin' the latter, but maybe you can think of something?

One of the new additions to the parks is the old Little Mermaid ride idea for DLP. Click here to view it: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fBUMRk-nkdA.

The ride will go in all five resorts worldwide, though not necessarily in all MK parks worldwide. Here's where it will go specifically:

  • DISNEYLAND RESORT: Disney's CA Adventure; Paradise Pier (replacing Mulholland Madness)
  • WALT DISNEY WORLD RESORT: Magic Kingdom; Fantasyland (replacing Ariel's Grotto)
  • TOKYO DISNEYLAND RESORT: Tokyo DisneySea; Mermaid Lagoon (obviously)
  • DISNEYLAND RESORT PARIS: Disneyland Resort; Fantasyland (where it was originally planned to go)
  • HONG KONG DISNEYLAND RESORT: Hong Kong Disneyland; Fantasyland (to give that park something worthwhile)

So what do you think? About WDW's Little Mermaid ride, the Little Mermaid puppet show at the Studios will be discontinued to allow for the new ride, because to have both show and ride would be a bit superfluous, wouldn't it?

The ride through is awesome, I mite possibly make it flow a little better, it seemed a bit disjointed at times, it could follow the story a little better, and be longer, after all it was intended to be mins long. The video also didn't show the wet/dry ideas that would have made you think you were underwater.

Shame to see Voyage go from MGM, I'm assuming you have a plan for something there?

Yeah, about that, I had to make some tough decisions there. I do have plans for that area; namely, a little trek through a cartoon city aboard a certain cartoon, talking taxicab, accompanied by a certain long-eared rabbit and his human bombshell wife... :animwink:

As for the disjointedness in the Little Mermaid ride on the DVD, I think I will also have all the scenes of the film used in the old Voyage show here as well. The name of the ride will be called "Voyages of the Little Mermaid", partially named after the show at MGM. What do you think?

That's pritty much what I called the ride in my DLA park (hey shamless plug time:Check out the thread "My Disneyland Australlia"). The ride idea is gold, shame Eisner was a total "word that starts with C and rhymes with Hunt" about budgets for Paris.

At Disneyland, I decided to also improve The Many Adventures of Winnie the Poooh big time, so that it can be more of a "smash" hit. To up the capacity of the attraction, I will revise the entryway to not be so secluded. Maybe I'll create big statues of the Pooh characters, pointing the way. The queue and load area will be completely indoors and look like the queue in Tokyo's Pooh ride. And the ride itself will receive a big update, too: the characters figures themselves will remain but the scenery will be revised to go from simple flats to actual 3D scenery, a la Tokyo's Pooh ride. In the end, the ride will certainly not be an exact duplicate of Tokyo's Pooh ride (it will be physically impossible for that), but neither will there be simply flat scenes. The queue will feature a vintage Pooh doll, a book displaying the title of the ride (much like the book in the movie) and some toy blocks displaying the characters' names. I will try and go into more detail at a later date.

This is probably a crazy question, but at Hong Kong Disneyland, should the proposed Frontierland attraction be in Adventureland?
