Ice Cream

I second the vote for a handmade sandwich from Sleepy Hollow! :)

Also available at the Main Street Bakery, Fountainview at Epcot, Dino Bites at AK, and in most/all of the Value resort food courts. But I've found that your best chance for fresh just-out-of-the-oven cookies are at Sleepy Hollow.

At least half a dozen years ago and beyond, they used to sell Nestle Tollhouse Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream sandwiches at most of the ice cream stands in the park. During my last couple trips, these were nowhere to be found. Does anyone know why? My family always looked forward to these as an afternoon treat.

Oh man! I remember having these back in the day. I don't think I've had one since a WDW trip in the 90s.

I don't know if this will be of any help.... but...

I know for a fact that if you ask for them by request at the Main Street Bakery, they will make them fresh. I know the OP was asking about the pre-packaged stuff, but this will blow that out of the water, trust me! They take 2 large, fresh baked chocolate chip cookies (i think Nestle makes these?), then 2 huge scoops of fresh dipped hard vanilla ice cream (not soft serve). I'm a big guy and can eat, but this thing was so large i could not finish it. I had this and a nice fresh coffee while watching Wishes on bench.... life could not have been better.

They may not be on the menu there though and I think you have to ask for them specifically.

I loved them, too. Looks like they've been modified to no trans-fat and far fewer calories then what they used to have. I know they used to be some insane high calorie count.

I try to skip the ice cream carts. If I'm gonna splurge I wanna do it where I get the most bang for my calories....like in a 'No Way Jose'!!!! :slurp:

Thanks for the info. If they've been modified to have fewer calories and no trans-fat, hopefully Disney will consider bringing them back to the carts!

I know. But as another previous poster said, I found those a bit filling and had a hard time finishing it! The prepackaged ones are just the right size for my taste, and I have no issue with how they taste compared to the larger freshly-made ones. Plus, I like the spontanaity of walking by one of the numorous carts in ANY land and being able to "impulse buy" one without going out of my way to get one. And if they came back to the carts, they'd be easy to find in all 4 parks.

I wasn't trying to be "negative" or complain that they are still missing from the carts - I was actually trying to be positive about the fact that sweetpee_1993 posted that the calories are now a lot less than they used to be, with no trans-fat. So that, if that was truly the reason they were pulled from the carts, maybe they'll come back! As more people are starting to report seeing them elsewhere in the resort, it seems plausible to me.

Didn't a Disney contract with Nestle recently expire? That might have something to do with it.

And I MUST try one of those sandwiches from Sleepy Hollow. :slurp:
