Ice Cream Carts

We had a couple Dole Whip Floats during our late May trip. The flavor of the juice and soft serve was about half of what it used to be. Has anyone else noticed this??

BTW, Disney no longer sells the itsakadoozie bar. They've replaced it with a similar offering. It's no longer spiraled, and there is no more green ice. It's red, orange, and yellow presented in a layered fashion. Noticed this 2 weeks ago both at Typhoon Lagoon and MK.

They'll be the ones who sue Disney for the ice cream being too cold! :ROFLOL:

Opening line on the law suit : There was no warning that if I ate it too fast I might get a headache. :ROFLOL:

Sorry to hear that they've discontinued the Itzakadoozie pops. They are my wifes favorite too. We had found a store nearby that had been carrying them and I would go buy 10 at a time and put them in the freezer to surprise her, but then they stopped stocking them.

What does that sign say? Caution is advised. Items are hard frozen..."? You mean they have to caution people that something frozen is hard? This is a sad sad world.
The ice cream carts use dry ice instead of mechanical refrigeration. The products are colder and potentially much harder than if they had been stored in a typical freezer.

While it only takes a few moments for the Florida sun to warm the ice cream to an edible state, guests who are not aware of this could be in for a painful surprise if they bite in immediately.

What?!? I love the Itsakadoozie bar and would be so sad if they were no longer sold at WDW. It is my favorite frozen snack there and actually look forward to getting them. Oh well. Can an Itsakadoozie be bought in any stores? I haven't seen them but maybe someone else has?

Disagree - been there, done that, wasn't a fan. The fruit bars are good though, and what's not to love about a Mickey bar? :)

I actually advise going to the machine at the polynesian in their little snack/food shop. They don't put the syrup on it that I think the MK stand does (may be something else, but they do something different), which ruined it for me.

Other than that, I must say this is a pretty great thread, may be picking up some of those edy's popsicles this summer.

Thanks for the tip - I'll check it out next time I'm down that way. :)

There isn't any "syrup" on a Dole Whip. The only difference is at Aloha Isle you can get it as float which is the pineapple Dole Whip soft serve in pineapple juice. At the Poly, you only get the soft serve itself.

And if you do not like the pineapple juice, you can get the soft serve standalone at Aloha Isle as well.

All this talk of pineapple reminds me I picked up some Edy's frozen pineapple fruit bars from Target the other night. Pretty good!

Maybe that's what I'm thinking of then. Regardless, there was something that they added when I got it that didn't make it as good as getting it as just soft serve (plus the poly allows you to balance the pineapple to vanilla ratio to your liking).
