At least the Movie never came into fruition *shudders*...Although I do like where that plane is heading....I bet if that show becomes huge I could see them showing up in the ride on a hot air balloon.

They'll sell merchandise from the show before spending to change music in the ride(s)....I doubt Disney plans on replacing the "small world" song with this one. I'm sure it's just for the show. It's cute.

I already have replaced the music in my head. This is what I hum when I ride the ride:
(and yes, that is Ron Schneider, Dreamfinder Prime)

Yeap. What a coincidence! Just this week I realized for the first time that these 2 songs fit together perfectly. They were both written by the Sherman brothers, weren't they?
Me TOO! I'm so not ashamed of it either! We learned to sing in round in grade school music class singing the original tune, both verses. And, I used to sing the song to my boys when I rocked them as babies.Ugh - no thank you.
I actually love the IASW song.

Or perhaps Disney is just capable of laughing at itself once in a while.Disney was a fool for slagging off its own product in Lion King. ("No! Anything but this song!") An entire generation has grown up thinking it is hip to dislike the Small World song.
Curse the silly ironic nineties. Everywhere, Disney felt it had to portray it was too hip for its own product, from Lion King to the New Management Tiki Room to Energy 'Now With Ellen' and Journey into YOUR Imagination.
Small World is a triumph of creativity, Disneyana, optimism and mid-century middle class values. May it last forever, the legacy of Blair, Disney and the Sherman Brothers left fully intact.
It was not Disney making fun of itself, but New Disney mocking Old Disney. Part of a larger cultural shift and dismissal of the out dated ways and looking down upon the Walties that remains entrenched in The Walt Disney Company of today.Or perhaps Disney is just capable of laughing at itself once in a while.
I bet if that show becomes huge I could see them showing up in the ride on a hot air balloon.
