Trip Report I Was LIVE - creating some new Disney memories

Why heelloooo there (said in the voice of the dinosaur puppet at the video before the Dinosuar ride in Animal Kingdom) -You've all just done the voice haven't you? I know you have. Don't deny it. I know if you didn't, you are now going back to do it!

Anyhow, it's those little things that have kept me going whilst waiting for this trip, which is now almost here, and I'm guessing you are here as you fancied a bit of Disney magic too - well I can't say I blame you I would do exactly the same thing if I were where you are right now.

I absolutely LOVE Disney, i could literally talk about it forever and I mean forever!
I check the Disney news every day and if someone is willing to talk about Disney who am I not to join in.

Prior to this trip I've kept myself amused making window decorations and a countdown and reading @Tuvalu & @Doc Disney trip reports which as you know come quite frequently. I've also passed the last year watching Jo & Ashley SRYS on you tube until they announced no more videos for a while which literally crushed my Wednesday and Sunday's. :(
I met them last year but they now have a family to plan for so I fully understand - but these days of the week just aren't the same anymore.

So who am I?
I'm Tracey, As I've already said Disney obsessed, want to live in Cinderella castle (who wouldn't? - why won't they let me? ) etc etc.
Myself and my husband Chris are off to Disney for 14 days from tomorrow - yes tomorrow - flying from the UK and arriving around 5pm
This will be our 20th, 2 week plus holiday here (once in 1996 and then every year since 1998) we rack up 297 days in POR during this trip. As those of you who have read my previous reports will know I absolutely LOVE this resort and will get to a whole year of my life here.
It's my 2nd home, as soon as I arrive I beam with happiness and normally cry at actually being there, not just looking at those pictures on my iPad.

Here I am in 2015 - this is one of my favourite photos from last year.

This year my brother Mark and his wife Claire join us. They were meant to join us last year but it had to be postponed but this year we will all be together.
It's their first year staying in a Disney resort so I hope they love Riverside as much as me. My brother has been to Disney 4 times before & his wife 3 times but they have never stayed in Disney. They are in for a real treat!

My brother and I get on so well together so I think this will be another holiday packed full of great memories.

So what else is planned?
Lots of ice cream - those of you have read my reports before will know that I have to have an ice cream a day when on holiday - more if I can :)
We have a keys to the Kingdom tour booked. Myself and Chris did this in 2013 but have booked again so Mark & Claire can do it too
And I have a meet up with Nicole, @prfctlyximprct Megan @Doc Disney planned. Well we were all there the same time so we couldn't miss the opportunity to meet so have formally planned it so we didn't miss each other. (@LisaBelle we will miss you - I take it the lottery numbers didn't come up)

Tonight we are headed to the airport to stay overnight before our flight at 11.40am tomorrow,
I just couldn't imagine getting in the car on Friday morning, getting caught in a traffic jam and missing my flight - that would be unbearable and something I simply won't let happen, so a hotel room for tonight it is.
We'll meet my brother and sister in law at the hotel and we will probably have a drink in the pub before going to bed.

So for the time being I will get back to packing the final bits and will update in the morning if I can get wi fi at the hotel/airport or you'll get an update when I get home to POR.

BTW I am having problems uploading any photos so this could all go horribly wrong (had internet problems here for days now) - but I'll hopefully be able to get that sorted in Disney - if not this will be the shortest trip report in history!

OMG the countdown that started at 350 odd days is nearly at 1 - I am nearly home in my Disney bubble.

Eeekkkkkk.

My eyes are tearing up just thinking about how hard it is to leave the Disney bubble. Just hold on to your magical memories of this trip and thoughts of returning again next year. The new countdown begins……..

It was so hard, I don't think my brother and SIL really knew how sad I got when I left - I was a blubbering wreck!
And now to start the countdown for next year.

Leaving is the hardest. Totally feeling your pain! Sending pixie dust your way for a smooth transition back to real life. I would have gladly adopted you!!! ;)

Thanks, I have a few options now for adoption so glad for Disney friends

I completely get how sad you feel. It is truly hard to explain to others who have not experienced the magic of Disney. It means way too much to me. Thank God for this website, I thought I was the only one!

Tell me about it - I do wonder if I am too emerged though, WDW magic everyday for the updated news and a few trip report reads here and there and u tube videos. But Disney gets me through every day life - there is so much hate around it's nice to think that one day it might all be a happy place.

Hope you have a safe flight! You aren't saying goodbye! Just see ya real soon!

Home now to a cold England! And I know I'll be back next year as its already booked but as you know it's real hard to go!
Was fab to meet you - if you are ever in the UK you are more than welcome

Friday 18th November - update

So I'm home in the real world, urghhhhhhhhhh
It's really cold in the UK and I have real bad Disney blues........ You all know that feeling.

The suitcases have been unpacked and the mickey ears and tiaras are away.
The first load of washing is on.

We really are back in the real world".........

But I still have Friday to update on

As I said before I woke up crying Friday morning, reality had hit me that I was going to leave the bubble!

I will miss this view in the morning (it's the little things)

We headed to the front entrance to leave our bags (we normally take to Disney Springs as we check in and they take them to the airport for us but we decided we wanted to keep the. To be able to pack any last minute bits)

That done we headed to the South depot bus stops to get the bus to the MK

The park opened at 8am but we didn't get there until about 9.25 having dropped the bags off etc

I saw a man handed out Happy Birthday Mickey pins - so obviously we had to have one! (I am sure you will have seen photos so ewhere!)

We wandered around MK taking everything in, we did a few rides and then headed here for lunch - and the masters cupcake.

As we left we saw the fairy godmother doing her meet & greet (unfortunately she was just leaving) so I just took a picture.
There are a few things that immediately make me know I am in MK - THE fairy godmother and Barbara - a fab cast member who we normally look for so we were happy to see the fairy godmother bit where is Barbara?
We didn't see her last year and we didn't see her this year - does anyone know where she is?
If you have ever seen her you will remember her!

We got on the liberty belle for a chance to take everything in before leaving - BTMRR was ready to go but opens on 19th - I can't believe we missed it but @Tuvalu has been virtually riding it for me - still not the same thing but I appreciate it all the same.

We then had a brief sit on our rocking chairs - they are there just for us bit feel free to use them if they are free - we let you

image.jpeg

Our last ride before leaving was 7DMT, we sang our way around and gave our cart a good swing

And then we left and took this picture on the way out

We headed back via the hotel to put in all my snacks - well those quick service credits needed using!

image.jpeg

And then we drove under the arch to head to the airport.
I sobbed again at this point.
And after doing a quick check round the airport and picking up some American baseball bits for my nephews we were on our way back to England.

My brother & SIL said they had a fab time, they cam see the benefit of staying onsite and loved POR - Ithink I may have converted them to Disney.

We were delayed around 20 mins but made it back at 4am US time.
We had to wait for luggage and drive home and arrived just after 7am US time.

Thankfully it was not raining but it was cold!
And the motorway wasn't too busy..

image.jpeg

I went straight to bed for a 45 min nap and the washing has gone on.

I've actually had to cook dinner and wash up - what is that's?
I've had Disney songs in my head all day at 8pm tonight I've imagined myself sitting waiting for the parade in the sunshine

Those memories now need to get me through to November next year....

So with a heavy heart I finish this report and will change the title from "live" to "I was live"

Thanks for tagging along

What a wonderful trip report! Thank you for sharing all your photos and interesting commentary. Wish you could have stayed longer, as you came from so far away (England). At least you can come back next year.

Oh by the way, I don't think I've seen a photo of the Fairy Godmother in anyone's TR, but you had one! Come to think of it, in all the trips I've taken to WDW I've never seen her even once.

Well, I hope you enjoy the upcoming holidays at home, and thanks again for letting us tag along on your trip!

That is one pitifully sad face passing BTMRR. :(

But I promise to ride it for you on December 2! :D
I knew you would!
Chris did a list of things to go and added BTMRR and then kept reminding me I hadn't done it - I could have killed him!

Wonderful and enjoyable report - thanks for taking precious time from your vacation to keep us updated. It's great that your brother and SIL had a good time! I always feel so responsible if I encourage anyone to join us on a trip or event - if they don't have a good time, I feel badly.

Above all, I'm impressed at your endurance....in the parks that day, then that long plane ride home when you're already bummed out from leaving, then waiting around for all the luggage and dealing with that...then a 3 hour drive? You all must have been exhausted.

Thanks, Tracey, we really enjoyed your daily reports, especially Roger. I read them to him and showed him the pictures. He gets a kick out of how much you love Disney. He says, "She is more crazy about Disney than you are!".
I just wanted to say that you were sitting in our rocking chairs, in Liberty Square, right? LOL. We always sit there and watch the world go by. It's the little things that are so stuck in our memories, the special moments. And you, my friend, have many, many of these wonderful memories with more to come. I hope we can come back in November next year too, but don't know about 2 trips in one year. Maybe I will win the lottery? Oh, loved the pictures of course, but did you know? You were driving on the wrong side of the street in England??
We will stay in touch, and you do the same.

Thank you for taking us along with you! It was fun to check for your updates and know what park you were in each day. It's easy to feel your love for WDW, and I can easily relate. I'm glad you had such a nice time!

I absolutely love Disney but in a live trip report at the end of busy days in the parks it's hard to include everything as sometimes you are so tired all you want to do is sleep! You know how long they take
My first trip report had a lot more of my passion for Disney as during this trip I was spending more time with my brother that I got a little lazy and included photos to tell the story. I am glad you enjoyed it as its nice someone is reading when you take time out to write them.

I am glad someone was reading so thank you for commenting. And when I am in Disney I try to spend as much time in the parks as possible to make every second count. The memories have to get me through to my next trip.
We"re not quite a 3 hour drive from the airport but we did have to wait for luggage etc and it al takes time. Still tired this morning. Think the jet lag may take some time.....

I am obsessed with Disney, it's funny Chris after meeting Nicole said that he thinks she loves Disney, she doesn't stop smiling. Maybe when she is my age she will be as crazy as me!
And yes the rocking chairs are in Liberty square. We can share them.
It would be good to catch up with you again in Disney and we will certainly keep in touch

Tracey, I loved your report. So glad that your brother and SIL enjoyed staying on Disney property. Poor Chris, he thought he was helping out reminding you that you hadn't yet ridden BTMR, but instead he was crushing you! It's disappointing when one of your favorites is being refurbished when you are there. But now it is all spiffed up and ready for your next visit.
Wow! You were right about having a lot of snack credits left! That's quite a haul to take home.
That last picture of the castle was beautiful :joyfull:! It's amazing how the sight that brings you so much joy when you arrive can break your heart as you say goodbye (or "See ya real soon!"). So glad you already have your next trip booked, that always helps to ease the blues (maybe not initially but down the road). I will be counting down with you and looking forward to next year's TR. It will have to keep me going as it doesn't look like we will make it back until summer of 2018 at the earliest :(. In the meantime, enjoy the holidays and have fun planning all the details of your next trip.
