Trip Report I Was LIVE - creating some new Disney memories

Why heelloooo there (said in the voice of the dinosaur puppet at the video before the Dinosuar ride in Animal Kingdom) -You've all just done the voice haven't you? I know you have. Don't deny it. I know if you didn't, you are now going back to do it!

Anyhow, it's those little things that have kept me going whilst waiting for this trip, which is now almost here, and I'm guessing you are here as you fancied a bit of Disney magic too - well I can't say I blame you I would do exactly the same thing if I were where you are right now.

I absolutely LOVE Disney, i could literally talk about it forever and I mean forever!
I check the Disney news every day and if someone is willing to talk about Disney who am I not to join in.

Prior to this trip I've kept myself amused making window decorations and a countdown and reading @Tuvalu & @Doc Disney trip reports which as you know come quite frequently. I've also passed the last year watching Jo & Ashley SRYS on you tube until they announced no more videos for a while which literally crushed my Wednesday and Sunday's. :(
I met them last year but they now have a family to plan for so I fully understand - but these days of the week just aren't the same anymore.

So who am I?
I'm Tracey, As I've already said Disney obsessed, want to live in Cinderella castle (who wouldn't? - why won't they let me? ) etc etc.
Myself and my husband Chris are off to Disney for 14 days from tomorrow - yes tomorrow - flying from the UK and arriving around 5pm
This will be our 20th, 2 week plus holiday here (once in 1996 and then every year since 1998) we rack up 297 days in POR during this trip. As those of you who have read my previous reports will know I absolutely LOVE this resort and will get to a whole year of my life here.
It's my 2nd home, as soon as I arrive I beam with happiness and normally cry at actually being there, not just looking at those pictures on my iPad.

Here I am in 2015 - this is one of my favourite photos from last year.

image.jpeg

This year my brother Mark and his wife Claire join us. They were meant to join us last year but it had to be postponed but this year we will all be together.
It's their first year staying in a Disney resort so I hope they love Riverside as much as me. My brother has been to Disney 4 times before & his wife 3 times but they have never stayed in Disney. They are in for a real treat!

My brother and I get on so well together so I think this will be another holiday packed full of great memories.

So what else is planned?
Lots of ice cream - those of you have read my reports before will know that I have to have an ice cream a day when on holiday - more if I can :)
We have a keys to the Kingdom tour booked. Myself and Chris did this in 2013 but have booked again so Mark & Claire can do it too
And I have a meet up with Nicole, @prfctlyximprct Megan @Doc Disney planned. Well we were all there the same time so we couldn't miss the opportunity to meet so have formally planned it so we didn't miss each other. (@LisaBelle we will miss you - I take it the lottery numbers didn't come up)

Ice cream pictures from previous years

Tonight we are headed to the airport to stay overnight before our flight at 11.40am tomorrow,
I just couldn't imagine getting in the car on Friday morning, getting caught in a traffic jam and missing my flight - that would be unbearable and something I simply won't let happen, so a hotel room for tonight it is.
We'll meet my brother and sister in law at the hotel and we will probably have a drink in the pub before going to bed.

So for the time being I will get back to packing the final bits and will update in the morning if I can get wi fi at the hotel/airport or you'll get an update when I get home to POR.

BTW I am having problems uploading any photos so this could all go horribly wrong (had internet problems here for days now) - but I'll hopefully be able to get that sorted in Disney - if not this will be the shortest trip report in history!

OMG the countdown that started at 350 odd days is nearly at 1 - I am nearly home in my Disney bubble.

Eeekkkkkk.

We will have to fight over the beast! I seriously cannot wait for the new movie next March! Have you seen the trailer?

Can't fight WDWMagic friends so maybe you just agree his mine and we move on - lol
And not seen the trailer yet but cannot wait either.

Is that part of the buffet?? I don't remember ice cream being there for breakfast...

Yes they have a machine and sprinkles to the side in the middle - it had to be done!

Wednesday 16th November

Today we headed to HS and walked to the opening of TSMM, after this we queued the GMR where Chris got the red card! I say queued but even after TSMM it was a walk on

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

As we exited Goofy was out doing a meet and greet and there was hardly a queue - so obviously Chris went to say hello

image.jpeg

We did a few more rides including VOTLM where we seemed to get quite wet - well we were under the sea! - but it was a beautiful warm day today so we soon dried off.

We did s few more rides and meet and greets - it was a lovely quiet sunny day in HS

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

As we walked past TSMM around 1ish it was showing a 25 min wait - this is so much less than we have seen while we have been here.

image.jpeg

We had made a decision to leave and go to Epcot to walk around the countries, hopefully with no crowds as food and wine had finished with the intention of getting the monorail to MK for our final chance to see wishes before we leave.
(And our first monorail trio of the holiday - don't know how that happened!)

First stop ice cream - or an Olaf lolly for me

image.jpeg

As we had walked into the park at around 3pm we booked a test track fast pass for 3.30 - yes the times are right we booked a fast pass for test track with half an hour wait (frozen was 60 min wait which I don't think is too bad either)

This is my car as we all went to our own station as it was so quiet in there

image.jpeg

At the end it showed as one of the top 5 for the day for capability!

We then went for a little stroll towards the countries to take a look around and to get dinner. (as soon as we got off test track we booked a same day fast pass for Soarin for after we thought we would be back from our stroll)

image.jpeg

Weird flavoured popcorns! But I guess someone must eat them.....

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

Epcot seemed pretty quiet too, we got to Soarin around 6pm and the wait time was 20 mins - a quiet day in Epcot too. It was certainly the least crowded since we arrived.

image.jpeg

We left Epcot shortly after Soarin as we were headed to MK, mainly for ice cream, a monorail ride and to watch the fireworks

When we got to the transport and ticket centre no monorails were running to MK so we had to get the boat. Beautiful view as we approached (even if it's not a great photo in terms of quality!)

image.jpeg

When the boat turned up we finally found out where everyone was today - MK!
It was mad in there.
We decided there and then that we were going to get ice cream and leave and hopefully home the boat trip back to coincide with the fireworks.

There is nothing better than sitting in the MK at 8pm at night eating ice cream. Although I have to admit I struggled to eat it all and may have left some of the cream. :(

image.jpeg

It was just coming up to 8.50pm as we left the MK, we hopped on the boat and left.
As we were half way back the fireworks started and we had a great view.
We made it to the dock as they were still going so stopped to watch - they were playing the music so we got the full effect.

We then got on an empty monorail back to Epcot to pick up the car. Well Epcot was closed so I guess no one needed to go back in that direction.

image.jpeg

And that as the end of another fun filled day in the most magical place on earth!

Let's see what new memories we can make tomorrow........

So just a quick update, when I said MK was busy yesterday it was crowded down Main Street, however it was only a 20 min queue for Buzz at 8pm.

We didn't see any other wait times but I'm guessing it probably wasn't too bad over there. Everyone was probably just accumulated in one spot when we arrived.

MK is also closing at 4.30 for a private event today so I'm guessing most will stear clear of that park today...... And probably went yesterday.

Think we are headed there today though!? We will see........

Thursday 17th November

We've been to Magic Kingdom today - it was lovely and quiet for most of the day (seemed to get busy around 2pm) maybe some hadn't realised it was a 4.30 close today so were park hopping?

We found out they were having a cast appreciation event - hence the reason or the early closure.

We've done a bunch of rides - so here are a few of our photos from today.

image.jpeg

Splash mountain - with ponchos - normally we just ride without but there is now a water cannon that shoots very early on in the ride and despite it being a hot sunny day we didn't want to get wet.

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

We decided to get the train around the magic kingdom - took these from the train station at about 1.30 ish

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

Here comes Casey junior, I may at this point pretended I was in the MK opening show!

image.jpeg

And then we had to pass BTMR - which should open from refurbishment on 19th and I leave tomorrow :(
I have been trying not to glance that way while I've been here - why oh why can't you open just a day earlier?

image.jpeg

image.jpeg

I will be back next year BTMRR!

We watched the parade pass by and then quickly headed through Adventureland towards Main Street.

Look the parade is coming again!

image.jpeg

We only waited for the beast to pass as we had left my brother about 2 hours ago and had told him we would be back at the hotel for 4pm.

image.jpeg

And then we left the MK to get back to the hotel.
We got back to our room at 3.57pm - not bad!

We had Epcot fast passes starting at 4pm.
We headed out within 15 mins and jumped on Soarin with our booked fast pass and then onto test track with one of our DVC fast passes.
Both of these rides were showing 40-50 min wait times so we used the passes wisely.

We popped into Joy and Sadness as this is one meet and greet I really wanted to do but the line was longer than any other day so it didn't happen! There is a lesson there - don't put anything off

Took this photo which will have to do.

image.jpeg

And I have just realised that I've not had ice cream today.
So I need to binge tomorrow.

We've been on the quick service plan and have struggled to eat all this food. I think we have all put on weight, my trousers are tighter!
And we've just found out we can substitute 3 snacks for 1 meal - so that means I could have 3 different ice creams for breakfast.............
This is something that's not been advertised and that I even asked about last year as we had meals remaining - (and was told it wasn't possible) so others of you may not know so this might help. I guess it's changed since our last visit. So you could have a cookie, a bag of chips and a bag of sweets as one meal.

We've been back at the room for the past 1 1/2 hours trying to pack as we go back to the UK tomorrow.
I can't believe that I have to leave, there will be tears tomorrow, there always are! I am trying to work out how I can stay...... Do any US citizens want to adopt me so I can be nearer to Disney?

It's likely the next update of our last day and final thoughts and photos will come after we are back in a cold London on Saturday, unless I find that loop hole mentioned above.

We're going to the MK tomorrow - where else would I be on Mickey Mouse 88th birthday - he invited me to his party!

Thanks for following - there will be another day to come - it's just likely it won't be updated tomorrow..........

I will adopt you! Cincinnati isn't very close to our beloved Disney, but it is closer than London :).
Definitely binge on ice cream tomorrow. Take @prfctlyximprct's advice and stand in the middle of Main Street, slowly turn in a circle and soak it all in. Thanks so much for sharing your trip with us. It is extra fun to follow a live report. So glad you got to meet @prfctlyximprct and @Doc Disney. Thanks again for posting the photo so quickly as I was anxious to see it. Enjoy your last day and have a safe trip home. I will be watching for your final update.

Friday 18th November

Happy birthday Mickey Mouse!

I am awake, I have tears streaming down my face at the thought of leaving this magical place, I emerse myself so much in the bubble that it's so painful to leave. I have knots in my stomach and feel sick.

There is something about this place that really does it to me. I know for everyone it's magical but for me it's that and so much more.

Maybe I need detox so I can come, enjoy and leave rather than being emerged 365 days of the year.

It's so painful to leave i clearly need to do something!

I hear you, Tracey! I remember how upset you were while wandering around POR on your last day last year! It never gets easy.
I just wanted you to know that Roger and I will adopt you both, afterall, you are close to my daughter's and son's ages:) A couple more won't matter. You'd love N. Mn. :) We are having a blizzard right now with about 6 inches of snow and it is still coming down, probably get over a foot! It's really beautiful. Ask me how beautiful it is in March!!!
I can't believe how uncrowded the MK was yesterday. It looks deserted! I hope it looks like that when we go in Feb.
(Maybe you could play hookey from work and come down to visit us, like Robin is:) She was kidding us at first about barging into our vacation last year, but then she really did it. We loved it.
Thoughts and prayers are with you on your way home!

It started snowing down here in southern MN too. I'm not ready for it. But I'm glad there will be snow up north since we're going to Duluth next weekend to see the Bentleyville lights and I think it will be better with snow!

Yay 2 people who will adopt me!
MK was quiet yesterday, not as quiet today - think the thanksgiving traffic is on its way in.
I might well play hookey and visit you in Feb!

Currently sat at the airport waiting to leave, I tried to convince someone to do something magical so I could stay but no pixie dust. :(
Not relishing the cold weather it's been beautiful, sipunny and hot today.

Great report!
