Ok yeah, it cuts off on the 8th of August. So in about a month or so I'd check the rates. That site you posted for tickets would save us $100 off compared to buying directly from Disney, so that's awesome!
I can't remember where I heard of it, but they have great discounts on places to eat, tickets and suggestions of things to do! I was super impressed!

Thanks for checking! I will definitely be rechecking obsessively until booking time! HAHA :D

Wow. Wish I could swing prices like that when I travel. :/ I flew in from Denver to Burbank this past Christmas. It was a short flight (two hours, if I recall correctly), so hopefully yours will be, too.:)
Yep, 2 hours and 15 minutes is what it looks like! Much better than flying into MCO where it's 4 hours bouncing on a plane in anticipation! HAHA

Im super excited about the deals I found! Im a TEENY anxious about the hotel, but also realizing its one of those "you get what you pay for" kind of things. LOL Most of the reviews are really good, some are bad (but it seems like it's before the remodel, I think). We're going to find a store and get breakfast stuff for our room so we're not relying (and being disappointed) by the hotels offerings. We're paying for the fridge for our room so we can keep waters and fruit there as well.

So Im trying to keep an open mind, and honestly, Im a really simple girl. Im not worried about 5 star anything, as long as I can sleep, we're safe and we can use the pool, Im pretty happy :D

As long as I don't climb into bed and have a 5 foot roach laying next to me tucking me in, I couldn't care less about amenities. I'm only using the place to sleep and being close to DL is a huge bonus. I want to wake up, shower, and hit the bricks on the way to the parks.

I think 5 foot roaches are palmetto bugs in the south. They make my husband screech like a woman in a horror movie.

So glad y'all are so excited! Us too. You couldn't give me a trip into the MM+/FP+ train wreck. We've been feeling a parks vacation & I'm grateful for an alternative. Can't tell ya how stoked I am.

Was eyeballing the Fairfield Inn near the park entrance. Seriously. 2bdrm 2 bath suite w/free breakfast for less than what we could get a discounted rate at PPH. It's hard not to take a long, hard look at that. The boys could have their own queen beds.

I'd book the Fairfield Inn if I were you! Paradise Pier isn't even that close to the parks.

We're so torn! The dream is DLH but gah! at the price!
Do the extremes instead of the middle... "downgrade" to the Fairfield suite (that sounds awesome, btw) this time, use the money saved to upgrade to Grand Californian next time! Even DLH is probably further from the parks than Fairfield is, not counting the monorail. Grand Californian is literally in DCA, so that location can't be beat.

I would highly recommend using Name Your Own Price from Priceline. I use it and I love it! I already have a mini-SUV booked for our drive out there and for a 10 day rental it's only $367. That's pretty darn good for an SUV, and that's considering I haven't even used NYOP on it. I don't use NYOP until like a week before, because with NYOP you have to pay in advance and if your offer is accepted then it charges you on the spot. You then find out which agency you get the rental from. I love it because here at Memphis International, they pretty much let you pick whatever car you want out of that category.

Does NYOP only give you the recognizable name car rental companies or might you wind up with some fly by night agency? I currently have an SUV on hold for $267 for 5 days using a Costco discount. Now you have me wondering if I can do better.

Yeah, its the big name rentals. Also, check hotwire.com because they show you their absolute best price without having to bid. It's just like nyop though, in that you aren't shown the rental company until you pay but it's worth it.

For instance, we're headed to Atlanta this weekend so my wife can go to the Bronner Bros hair show. Originally I had a full size car booked from 4pm Friday until 6pm Monday. That was going to be $131. I just checked Hotwire and changed the pick up day to Thursday at 4pm and it offered a full size for $117. Fourteen dollars cheaper and a day more, yes please!!

Just wanted to add this. Have you guys seen the price of rental cars in California??? Holy crap!! For a four day rental of a compact car the best price I could find was $266. That's insane!!
