I Spent Over A Year of My Life at Disney?

You're still on pace. My first trip was 6 months old, so I've been going over 30 years now. You just need to keep it up and add some out of country Disney experiences too. Amazing how consistent it is in other parts of the world.

Oo actually I didn't count Disneyland Paris! Counted California.

This is interesting. With the technology of MagicBands...I wonder if there's a way for us to see how many times we've scanned in to a park? I'm sure WDW can see in some way...but I wonder if that info could make it our way.
Was thinking it would be so awesome to have a record of all my trips to WDW in the past.

I know one summer day in like 1993, I was THE first guest in MK, THE first person in Tomorrowland, and THE first person to ride Space Mountain. Was the highlight of my life as a kid. :)

Your day per trip is still pretty awesome. You go 10+ days each time? I've gone 10+ days a couple times, but since I had to start working, most of them are 8-9.
Most have been 14 days, the very first trip was 7 days, and there were a couple of 10 dayers. Over the years my $$$ spent on souvenirs and other extras has increased greatly. Yeah, Disneys made a pile of money off of me & my family.

Well, add a few more days to the list.

We have tentatively planned a trip to Tokyo/Shanghai early next year. We'll stay in Tokyo, but fly to Shanghai for a couple days to see the city and experience Shanghai.

We needed an excuse to visit Tokyo, so we'ere using Shanghai as a way to get back there and also experience new Disney.

I'm 33 and have lived in NY for my 1st 13yrs and last 20 in Texas. I've during that time probably spent 16 weeks of my life at Disney. Considering we plan on going again in December and purchasing a DVC in the next 2 years, I should reach a year in the next 20-30yrs.

My visits are a mix of Disneyland when I was younger, one trip to Disneyland Paris (the first year it was open as EuroDisney) and mostly Walt Disney World.

70 days - From 1974 through 1988, I went one week per year averaging 5 days per trip.

624 days - Lived in Orlando from 1989 through 1995 and visited twice per week minimum.

48 days - Moved to Massachusetts from 1995 through 2008 and made 6 trips during that period averaging 8 days per trip.

832 days - Have lived in Orlando from 2008 until present and visit twice per week minimum.

Total (so far) is around 1574 days or 4.31 years. It's actually more because we spend our Holidays and extra time off there as well so we lose track.

I don't know if they can see how many times it does work, but a Guest Services CM told me that she could definitely see how many times it doesn't work. As you can see by my earlier post, I go often but I will say one thing, as far as the MagicBands, they have NOT been good for me when trying to enter the Park. Since the MagicBands have been implemented, it has NOT worked 99.99% of the time so I have become very well known with the Guest Services CMs that carry their tablets.

Fun thread. Made me think.

Thing is, if I went that much, I would personally become one of those people on here who complains about each and every thing because to me, such frequent visits would make me numb to the magic.

Kind of like if Christmas (or whatever your favorite holiday is) came five times a year instead of once. I'd get numb to it.

So instead of - "wow! Those fireworks!", I might be like "wow, that green one was not as big as it's supposed to be!" Instead of "Wow, a Monirail ride!", I might be like "wow, that's monorail seat has a tiny little rip in the cushion. How darrrrre they!"

So, while I don't have 4 trillion visits racked up, and while none of them are for more than 5 days or so, I can live with that, because it makes the next visit all the more special.

Of course, if you can afford to go 20 million times a year and if you don't get numb to the magic, more power to you.

:)

Yeah..... when it comes to the fireworks I know what every shell to wishes & illuminations should be.... and I get picky and have trouble watching either show now.

Its why I'm taking a lengthy break.

You know, I catch myself doing exactly that sometimes. So you're right...you do have to guard against it. I wouldn't say I ever get numb to the magic, but it's amazing how much you'll focus on smaller details when you've seen wishes 7 nights in a row. I'll actually wonder why they used a certain color or notice a missing flourish if they load a slightly different firework or there is a misfire.

I notice a ton of variability on Fantasmic. I always notice effects not working in attractions.

Actually, this has started becoming part of the fun for me. I'm still always so happy to walk in the first time, even if I was there just 4-5 months prior.

Yeah I'm somewhere over a year and a half but not quite that much.

Here's to lifestylin & profilin! :D
The scary thing is I have not been a regular at the parks for the last 3 years. Given the wife's current work schedule I most likely wont be again until we retire in 20 years.

It's Been about 18 months for me. Gotta wait for Star Wars land....
That will most likely be our next full blown trip as well although we will probably sneak in a dozen or so day and out of park trips between then and now. (eg dinner and fireworks on July third at the Poly this year)

I imagine I've been at last a year and a half's worth of days.... My parents own a traveling theatre company and we used to perform in the fancy retirement centers in Florida.. We'd spend dozens of days at Disney World and Universal Studios. This was back when the parks were basically deserted and empty and actually had crowd seasons.

I've been there roughly 350 days throughout my exquisitely interesting and fulfilling life. Frankly, I can think of worse ways to spend the better part of a year.

What's Universal Studios?
