I keep meaning to post this thread and forgetting. I've heard other people have seen them at WDW and was bummed because I never did. But I finally saw one in the big water in the AK! Didn't see his whole body, just his head. At first, I wasn't sure if it was a croc head or a stick that was floating up and then sinking. But it turned out to be a croc head!!

I was so excited. Finally.

Might have been a gator. I never can remember the difference. Croc sounds cooler.

So, where have you all seen your crocs?? (Besides Gatorland, no cheating!). :D

I do live in central Florida and have never seen one outside of a zoo-like environment! People up north ask about it all the time and I'm always like, "I've yet to see one..."

Finally did! I wonder if Disney will keep it, relocate it or send it to Gatorland when (if) they find it.

I see the occasional deer on Osceola Parkway at night.

Walt Disney World is built in a swamp in central Florida. Unless it gets too close to guests I doubt they much care.

haha I meant that seeing a gator in FL is as common as seeing a deer up north. No flesh-eating white tail up by you?! :)
The deer dont eat people, theyre safe as long as long as a 300 pound deer doesnt come flying thru your windshield or decide to go on a defencive rampage and start smacking you with its hoovs or even worse... antlers. You cant zig zag run from a deer.

That's amazing! I saw a few animals there myself! ;)

Seriously, I've yet to see a gator 'loose', we always look in lakes and swamps as we pass, as they say every lake and swamp in FL will have gators in!

Every day is a school day. LOL When I was Homestead AFB we saw a lot mainly in the storm drains (the big ditches at the side of the road). At first it was a novelty, but after the first week or so it was part of the wild life but it was still a little weird seeing them like that. The only place you see them in the UK is at a wildlife or Zoo.

There was a cute little family of gators frolicking by the Flame Tree BBQ in '10. My kids, who love anything reptile like were entranced and finally a CM noticed. By the time DH came with our food and we ate an entire group of official looking CM's were there. They were kind and answered my daughter's questions about where the crocs would go, of she could help with the rescue, and do the tap the noses of the gators like on TV to tackle and tie them up with tape. We were told they go to an area away from guests, no comment on nose tapping and unfortunately she could not help;). While we could see the crocs they were no danger to us or really even that close. I know gators are a dime a dozen in Florida but I am glad they aren't killed.
BTW if this were a frolicking family if snakes I would have had a very different reaction and never step foot in AK again. Much like Indy, I hate snakes!

I often wondered about those crocs at Kilimanjaro. I never see them move so I've often wondered if they are real or not. I assume they are real though because all the other animals are - except the former Little Red in the tent!
