Can anyone help me I plan to propose to my gf at magic kingdom near the castle or at night when fireworks are going.

Just a couple of questions I have heard about a wishing well near the castle can anyone explain where it is or any pics?

If i just got down on one knee infront of the castle in daylight would I look stupid? eg infront of all the people kids etc...

and finally where is the best place to ask at night with the fireworks??

As many ideas opinions as possible please I need it!!

Depends partly on her answer. Personally I'd pick a more private spot, even if you're confident of the answer. Maybe the Carousel of Progress. There's usually no one in there.

Have you thought about doing one of those fireworks cruise? Out on the lake, watching the fireworks would be very romantic and private. But if you are set on doing it in front of the castle then I say go for it but in which area I would not know. How about a fun idea? Get on Dumbo during the fireworks and ask her there. She will never forget that. Good luck.

IF I remember correctly, as you look at the front of the castle, the wishing well is on the front / right (Tomorrowland side). Perhaps a proposal there is a little more private than in front of the castle itself, and an awful lot more private than when Main Street and the castle areas are heaving with crowds waiting for Wishes

As you look at the castle from Main Street, there is a private garden off to the right called FairyTale Garden, where Belle often reads stories during the day. It's lamplit at night, and a very romantic (and off the beaten path!) spot. To get there, go through the castle, and then make a right turn toward Tomorrowland down the curved walkway (or ask a Cast Member for directions, if I'm not explaining this very well!)

Good luck, and have fun!

I actually surprised my fiancee with a proposal right in front of "Partners" We had queued up to have our photopass pics taken, didn't warn the photographer and when we were in place I turned to her and dropped to my knee... She was shocked, we both started crying as we hugged and kissed, and the photographer (who I didn't warn) didn't miss a beat. We're getting married Saturday, and of course spending our honeymoon at WDW. I know wherever you choose will be magical for both of you. Good Luck!

Cinderella's wishing well is my favorite place in the magic kingdom. Here's a picture of my husband and I there on our honeymoon. It's just up a little walkway to the right of the castle, if you're looking at the castle.

In the middle of July, we were able to get this picture and hang out by the fountain for a few minutes with no people around. You could do a proposal without mobs of people very easily. In fact, a friend if mine proposed to his wife here, and he had talked to a cast member about it beforehand. They were able to set it up so a photographer got a photo of the proposal. You could also try doing that.

For the fireworks, my favorite place is actually not in the Magic Kingdom. We watched the fireworks from the Polynesian Beach. Again in mid-July, we were the only people there except for one other couple who were fairly far away. We sat on the beach on the far left, closest to the Grand Floridian. It was so romantic, and something we're going to make a tradition with every visit. I would have loved to have been proposed to there, during the fireworks. :)

Whatever you decide to do - good luck & best wishes!

Thanks to all peoples ideas and info,I just need to figure out a way to get someone to photograph the moment when I ask! I am probably going to propose at the well just because Im shy and my girlfriends shy too...

What you could do is the old 'coould you take our picture routine' so as you're not letting on then when you get in position, go down on the one knee and I think that would work great.

The fantastic thing about Disney is you're more likely to get a round of applause than anyone laughing at your proposal.

Well in that case, you won't really be able to get your photo taken.

One thing to consider (and maybe someone can clarify if I'm wrong):
The wishing well and surrounding walkway may be closed off before and during the fireworks.

As I said, I am not certain if this is one area that is closed, but I know that many areas surrounding the castle are indeed closed before, during, and for a while after the fireworks.

Regardless - just remember - no matter how shy you are, no matter how shy she is, even if there are some people around when you propose, don't hesitate and miss the opportunity when you have it - DO IT and you will never regret that moment! It will truly be a fairytale story to tell generations!

Good luck!

I proposed to my now DW on the small pier at Germany Pavillion at EPCOT just after Illuminations (she is a German soccer freak). The park was closing and it was just us and friends. The torches around the lagoon were lit and it was very private. No matter where you do it, nobody will be laughing, just congratulations from everyone. It is the happiest place on earth!
