Ok I was in the wdw college program in Spring of 2003. Well me and my friend who did the program with me and lived under me are going together in Dec. And I was thinking of getting her a present while we were in wdw.

Option 1: Dinner at one of the world showcase restaurants, maybe Italy or France with the reserved seating for the Candle light processional.

Option 2: We would both get a massage or something at the Grand Floridian

Option 3: We will be staying at PO the first night and then the All Star Music the rest of the trip. We are splitting up the days because if we checked in the first night at the all star we would only get 25% off where as if we checked in the next day we would get 50% off everynight. So we are getting PO for $74 the first night and then the all star music for $259 for 6 nights. We get the discount becasue i will be working while i am there. So... as the present i was thinking of up grading the last 2 nights of the trip at the Poly and that is $333 for 2 nights. All the other nights except for the last 2 we will be splitting the price in half.

Soooooo which thing do you guys think i should do? I really like 3 but i need ur opinion. Please Please i really need to know what you think i should do other than on the poll. please

Thanks

We typically switch between 2 hotels based on their locations but I didn't chose the Polynesian option because if I read this correctly you will have 3 hotel switches which may be a big pain.
1 night - PO
4 nights - AsM
2 nights - Polynesian

When are you planning on checking out from AsM to the Polynesian? Will you really get $$ worth of the 2 days? Which park are you planning to hang out in? The Polynesian does have great transport option in my opinion for MK and Epcot and I think it's incredibly generous of you to pay for the upgrade but I'd personally use the extra money toward dining out or splurge on some other thing like the massages. You could even pay for more of her AsM days vs. her splitting them with you for that price difference.

I would go with number 3, and surprise her with the Poly upgrade. I think you both will get more lasting enjoyment out of it!:)

(Please let us know what you decide)

I would probably go with the Polynesian, if you don't mind moving twice. It's something everyone should do at least once. Let us know what you decide.
And be sure to check this site out, it is the ultimate Polynesian site!

The Poly is our fav resort so I'm partial to that option. As long as you don't mind the resort moving, that would be my suggestion.

I agree with Nansafan

I'm also a Poly person also, but if you choose this option, make sure you spend some time at the hotel or else it really wouldn't be worth switching the last two nights. Enjoy the Volcano pool, watch the MK fireworks from the beach, Eat at O'hanas, do some thing right at the hotel!!!!!

Poly upgrade is your best bet....the dinner and the show sounds nice but speaking from experience if you get stuck on a day that is raining or something and for some reason don't end up under the roof of the "theater" umbrellas will get in the way and destroy the show...lol......besides the candle light procession isn't anything out of this world.....

Go for the poly upgrade...you'll enjoy it more....(let us know how things go).....

Option 1. As already posted, rain could be a factor. It's not as if you can't watch it without the dinner package.

Option 2. Unless there is something extrodinary about the masseuse at the GF, you could get this service at home. It's nice, but not "magical."

Option 3. There is only one Polynesian where you can stroll on the beach and see the MK, ride a boat to MK from your resort dock, slide down the volcano pool slide...etc.

You're not apt to get such a reduced rate again anytime soon, so I'd go for that option.

All that hotel hopping is not for me. I would stay the whole time at one of the lower priced deluxes, the Wilderness Lodge or the Animal Kingdom Lodge. I've stayed in both & LOVE both. You can usually work a great deal on them also.
Have fun whatever you do!

Agree! Make sure you spend some time in the Poly if you are moving there.

The dinner package for CP is not that special for me...since I saw the show sooo many nights, I coldn´t care less for what I eat before or after the show, and the reserved seats for the dinner package IMHO, weren´t the best. Nothing like being able to choose where to sit (preferably right in the middle of the bleachers...hehehe) :animwink:

I vote for Poly!

Not to be nosey or anythig, but maybe if you give us a bit more of information we can be of more help....

When I think of a present for a "friend", I think of some merchandise, you know, something not too expensive that the person can take home with. It looks like she is more than a friend to you, or you want her to be more than that, in which case, the options are also a lot, just depending on what you really want from her to think (or do). ;)

The fireworks cruise could be a very romantic surprise. :animwink:

Well she is just a friend and I don't want more than that... she has a boyfirend anyway. I was just trying to think of something nice to do for her because she is just a really nice person. I want it to be more than a physical present I really want a good memory to go along with it. Like I said we are just friends and I don't want more than that. And in a way i can make this kinda like a christmas present to myself too :xmas: Plus she lives in Texas and I live in Michigan and that just wouldn't work ha ha

soo yeah... I just try to make everyones trip to disney more magic than they would normally get. When i was working there earlier this year my cousin and her daughters came to WDW. It was the girls 4 and 7 first trip to disney world. So to add that extra touch the day they checked in I gave them a note that I had mickey write and maybe 25 other characters sign sayin they were so happy that they finally get to meet them and they have been looking forward to seeing them.... with that note I (mickey lol) gave them an autograph book and a mickey plush. They thought it was great that mickey knew who they were and later that night we went to chef mickeys and their eyes lit up when they saw him.

That is the kind of magic that I like to create...

if you guys have any ideas or any comments on mine i am wide open for anything fun!

thanks

A fireworks cruise for Illuminations would be a lovely surprize. If you don't do that, reservations at the Rose & Crown for Illuminations would also be great (and not nearly as expensive)!
Not sure if you would be interested, but one of the many WDW tours might also be a nice gift. Here is a link to the tour descriptions & costs.
