Not sure about FL, but in NY we have a coroner system...they can be anyone...undertaker, nurse, teacher. (It's an elected position) We even had one who was a tow truck operator. Pronounced you dead and then towed your car away! If you didn't die in a hosp then the coroner was called. The body can't be moved. If CPR is started then it has to continue until a DR. declares death, either at the scene or in the hosp.

This isn't WDW but at Islands Of Adventure my nose was broken on the Jurrassic Park River Adventure, during the final drop my head banged on the seat bar. This was before the park officially opened and since they have added lots of padding to the bars. It was very weird, I just wanted to go sit down cause my nose was bleeding but they made me sign all these forms so I couldn't sue them or something, atleast I think that's what I was signing. :veryconfu

OMG! Why did you sign? That's so awful, especially for a girl. I have had my nose broken so bad that it fractured my skull too. Doing that to a girl can devistate her. I hope you recovered fully and your nose doesn't look different like mine does.

Enjerd???? Someone needs a spell check!

My DS was injured on our last trip in Jan 2003, not once, but twice. He has the scar to prove it. I don't think I can discuss much about it since we are going through the Legal Dept right now.....what a nightmare! The 1st one happened in the MK, right in front of a manager. He's got a scar right in the middle of his forehead that he will have forever. (that's the one we're involved w/ the Legal dept) Before I get yelled at, we only wanted them to pay his medical expenses, nothing more.

The next day, at AK, we were riding in the tram to conservation station (the RR wasn't working b/c of the cold weather) The driver was speeding and slammed on the breaks so he didn't hit another car. We always make sure DS sits all the way back on the trams. Sure enough, he flew face first into the back of the seat in front of him before we could grab him. Smashed up his whole mouth. Lots of other people on the tram started yelling at the driver. We had to wait for paramedics to get there and fill out paper work with another manager. (Very nice guy! bought my son ice cream, got him a stuffed animal and offered us lunch at Rainforest, which we didn't take) They immediately moved the driver out of the department, since it was atleast the 2nd time that day it happened.

Dealing with the legal dept is a pain in the *&%. We had to call them, no one contacted us. They offered us a few one-day passes. (we're AP holders) Unfortunately, we had contact a lawyer ourselves.

I can't believe they didn't contact you about your broken ankle! If you want the legal dept number, PM me!

Figaro, please let us know how all this turns out once you finish your legal process with this. Hope all works out well for you and your family.

My son was walking up the street towards Tower of Terror and ran his hand along a wooden bench like kids will do. He got a HUGE splinter that went straight through his little finger. Took him to First Aid and the nurse there wouldn't touch it. She made my husband take it out. It looked as if he got all of it out and since we were on our last day we decided to not go to the med center off site. When we got home, it looked to be healing and no sign of infection until a week later when we had to go to the doctor for emergency surgery since a piece of wood was imbedded in his finger.

Let Disney know the benches were splintering and what happened and they offered us free one day passes which I turned down. All I wanted from them was for them to replace the benches.

My sister got hurt while watching the Mulan parade. One of the performers was twirling a bamboo stick and lost control and it came and whacked my sister across her leg. She ended up with nerve damage and all sorts of problems. She had a legal case but not with Disney since the company is hired outside of Disney to do the parades. To this day she still has problems with her leg. She did win the case and used the money to take a cruise with my BIL and neice.

A Kloce Kawl

A few months ago I had a lovely dinner at the AKL's Jiko Restaurant & drank the better part of a bottle of S. African red wine. Later, I went out & played on the swings in the playground & laughed so hard that I almost enjerd myself!

Nope....I definitely broke my ankle at Magic Kingdom. My sister took a great photograph of me sitting on the landing of Splash Mountain with my ankle hanging from my leg while waiting for the EMTs.

the only thing to ever happen to me at the parks, as a guest... I rolled my ankle in the train tracks on Main Street.

what a trooper

I was at PO:Riverside with my mom, who out of respect I will only say is significantly older than I am (lets say late middle aged...)

It was very early in the morning, but my mother acts like a child at WDW and wanted to be in the first bus going to MK for Early Entry. For some reason or other, we were running a few minutes "late," and we thought we heard the bus coming as we were nearing the Lobby Area. Therefore, we both took off to catch the bus. While of course I get ahead of her, and I glance back in time to see her go down HARD. Turns out she caught her shoe tip in an uneven tile in front of the Cotton Mill building. She fell really, hard, but fort. she didn't break anything. She did have huge scratches on her arms, a big gash in her knee and scratched glasses. I immediatly suggested we go back to the room, get some ice, take it easy...

Well that wasn't going to happen. She insisted we go to MK and do "all the rides" anyway. I know she was in a lot of pain so I really tried to get her to forget it for the day, but she can be stubborn. So, we went to MK, we did Space Mountain 5 times in a row, did a few other things, and finally I made her go to First Aid where they took good care of her.

They couldn't believe she had actually gone on Space Mountain five times in that condition! Neither could I!
