i don't know if you all remember, but i was in the dreaming stage of a trip to the world in 2008. hubby put a big stop to that, (i even took him out to dinner to soften him up. LOL)

i don't know how much of this to say, i am not sure how many young people are on the boards. but i will say that last nite i brought it back up during a moment of (how should i say this) wifely duties  and he said ok  .

so to the point of this thread, don't give up the dream! if there is a will there is a way! :ROFLOL:

so i will be moving from the dreaming stage onwards and upwards to the planning stage!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! once my dates are set i am going to be posting in the official april threads :sohappy:

I think he is really the big winner. He got what he...uh...wanted, and STILL gets to go on a vacation to WDW. So, if I may be so bold, were the REGULAR duties or did he have the good sense to negotiate "special" favors?

Is that all it takes to get a yes?

I've been trying to wear The Boy down for almost 4 years now and he continually says no. I guess I know when to bring it up now... :drevil:

Good for you! I remember your "dreaming stages" thread... hopefully now you will start a "booking and planning ADR's" thread... Hey, whatever it takes to go to WDW, right??

I think you need to reevaluate the power structure in your relationship. You've been trying to get something for 4 years and have been unsuccessful? Maybe you need to start withholding?

i just want to say that if this thread offended any one i am very sorry, as i did not mean for that to happen.

i found it quite humourous as to what i was even thinking, during a certain time, and it was not what hubby was thinking.

hubby isn't sure if he will go or not. so he may not get the best of both worlds. he is not a disney fanatic. i managed to get him to go with us last year, only because he felt quilty about not going, as it was our son's birthday, so he decided to go.

so far, it will just be my son and i going.

again, i am sorry if it offended some.

I don't think too many folks here are "offended" by your thread...it's just one of the more unique trip planning stories we've heard. Personally it made my day.

Way to go, eagles!!! High five, girl! Hey, whatever it takes. You know? A girl has to do what a girl has to do....

I am, however, reminded of the Home Depot commercial where the delivery guy rings the doorbell. The husband answers and says, "Appliances? What appliances?" He looks over at his wife who doesn't say a word, just holds up a tape recorder with the husband's voice saying, "If you let me....you can have anything you want". I hope you don't need a recording of the conversation.... LOL! :ROFLOL:

That's what girls do. We find a way to get what we want because we want what we want when we want it. That's why I'm "The Princess". LOL!

:king:

If anyone is offended by someone hinting at what we all know is shared between husband and wife...I would suggest they seek more important issues to concern themselves over...or a hobby :p

And yes, the power you women can have over us because of your "bargaining chip" is amazing.

depends - if its shoes or bags, she has to bribe me with magners.....
I'm not sure what a magner is. If it's a $300-500 shoe or bag...no stress. It's a major purchase for us and not something I'd do regularly. But, she doesn't like diamonds, so it evens out. All relationships are a quid pro quo on some level and I wish more young guys understood that. You wash the dishes without being asked, you get left alone to watch the game. It's a two way street and it requires work. Now, I am not so cynical as to call it a pure bartering system, and I quite sure that the original poster meant for her comments to be taken with a knowing wink and a smile. I don't think that she REALLY had to trade favors for a vacation (at least I hope not).
