I don't know if this is totally false or if it's true

I was told about these things today by one of my teachers - who is very good friends with both "Imagineers" from Disney and a designer for Universal.

I don't know if this is true or not. They may be 100% false. I just wanted to know if anyone here knew about them. After all, you may not have heard about these as Disney always tries its best to keep all of these things as secret as possible.

I'm no troll saying this. I just want to see if anyone can "confirm" or 100% deny it. I'm not saying that this happened; I am just trying to see if anyone heard this. It's not meant for gossip or anything.

Anyway, if you have heard of these, please tell me:

(1) During initial testing of Test Track, possibly in the same incident where a test car fell into the lagoon, six testers were killed and a few others injured (maybe in here, or in another incident.)

(2) Human remains were found at the very bottom of a Disney Cruise Line ship very recently (in machinery or something of that sort). (My teacher saw this on the news a few days ago, but the subject quickly disappeared).

Thank you!

I don't think things like this would be so hush hush if they happened. I have a feeling we would all know about them.

And for a car to go in to the lagoon...that would have to be one heck of a jump. I don't think it could make it.

I hate hearing scary things like that about rides. The only park I feel comfortable riding rides is Disney.

Now, I realize that is probably my personal illusion....but I would like to keep it.

Test Track is one of the safest rides. This was WAY before like in 1997 or whatever. Years of testing fixed this problem (if there was one)...and now, that it's opened, it is so safe, that it breaks down at every slight mistake. This is not a problem right now!

I am sorry to have scared you, but you should have no fear at all!!

Oh, that's okay OneLittleSpark.....I know accidents happen at Disney. I still think it's safer than my local amusement park. Silly or not, I am more comfortable with coasters at Disney because I figure they have so much more at stake than any other park.

If there was an accident I would rather know anyway.

Thanks for being so kind though. :)

Time to really scare you guys.

There was a "rumor" going around that a car from Test Track derailed from the track and proceeded to tear open a new opening for a maintenance door on the side of the building. I honestly had not thought anything of it until I joking asked an Imagineer "if that thing was designed like a slot car track couldn't a car fly off if it had too much speed?"

I then recieved the response "don't you wish Eisner was strapped into the car that did that?"

I really thought I was being messed with, but I have always wondered about that...

However, I'm really more worried about Disney's (lack of) maintenance of the ride than the ride itself.

*To my knowledge no one has killed or seriously injured while riding Test Track*

For a TT car to make it to the lagoon would be one hell of a jump (over the Odyssey and 100 yards or more). Unless you mean the water area outside the Odyssey. That would be possible, since it's not that far from the high-speed "wrap-around".

The delays in Test Track opening were nothing at all to do with cars flying off tracks. That rumor is totally false, another urban legend for the list. :)

Keeping cars on the track is one of the easiest things to do in the whole attraction. It works like a coaster, but TT has 18 wheels underneath the car, and 4 on top. With that amount of wheels attaching you to the track, there is just no way its coming off.

The delays were to do with capacity, timings, vehicle spacing and reliability. Definately NOT cars coming derailed.

I had a friend who worked as a CM back when TT was under construction. I asked him about all the delays and he said most of the problems they had were computer-related. A few tires blew now and then but no (living) riders were injured.

As far as the other rumor(s), some are just that, while others have some truth behind them. I don't recall the title, but a while back a book was released with some true stories about scary (and dangerous) things that happened @ WDW.

The second rumour sounds like something that happened up here in Toronto. A mechanical worker was found frozen to death in the landing gear of an Air Canada plane a couple of weeks ago at Lester B Pearson International Airport, maybe thats what your teacher heard???

yeah, i wouldnt think that would be true, most all of the people that get hurt at theme parks are the ones who do something stupid like jump out of the ride or something.
