I have been trying SO hard to resist the 7 for 4 deal but after watching the new planning DVD (which is basically the same as last year's  I'm a sucker) I just made a down payment on a February trip.

It's not a huge deal as I have lots of reward points from the Disney Visa saved, and a Disney savings account with plenty in it for this trip (I know,) but I was saving that for a holiday blowout next year. But this deal is just TOO good. I was having trouble getting Pop for dates in early February so I just made the reservation with the idea that we can debate it for a week and cancel if necessary. I figured you guys would understand.

But I mean, come on, 3 free nights AND free food ($200 gift card)?!? Now I'm so excited that if my boyfriend changes his mind, I might go by myself  I can see the holiday decorations another year.

Reading it now, my title sounds horrible, but in my sarcastic voice-in-my-head it made me laugh.

I don't blame you b/c I basically did the same thing!

I logged on the AP website and saw a $49 night deal at AS Sports 2 weeks ago. I fought it for about an hour and finally called. As a result, I'm going Monday-Thursday of next week on solo trip.

Don't feel bad, we all understand!

Nothing wrong what that at all! I think anyone here if given the chance, would do the same. :)

We all need to...

I see nothing wrong. In fact, this is great!!!! Putting money back into our beloved Disney is exactly what it needs!!!! The 4/3 deal is great. I actually spent 3 hours on the phone when it first came out "reconfiguring" our vacation!!!

After sleeping on it, I am way too excited not to do this haha. Although I am sorta bummed that it's so last minute (at least compared to past trips) because I don't have as much time to worry/plan/wait. Sometimes waiting is exciting

OMG I've never called 407-wdisney before (first trip without a travel agent) and the hold music is AWESOME.

I've been planning my whole trip myself, and the hold music is definitely one of the highlights! Sometimes I just want to call and leave it playing, like a radio!

I'm having a tough time getting a room for ANY of the value resorts in mid-January too. What gives? I thought this was supposed to be a slow time of year?!

Well mid-January has MLK weekend, so that's a pretty busy week. But also if you're looking for a room with a discount, those rooms may be sold out, unfortunately. There's only a certain number of rooms with the discount.
Good luck! Hope you find something!

Essentially, Disney determines how many rooms at each resort will be set aside for the discount price. Once those are used up the resort will show up as unavailable (of course, the room could be unavailable just one day and show it being unavailable). So it doesn't hurt to be a little flexible.

I see what you're saying about the free food (by using the gift card). I actually asked them this question on the phone and they said I couldn't use the gift card for food. Anyone have any more information on this?

Really?! Aww I'd read online that it could be used for restaurants as if it were a regular gift card. I know the gift card they'd give instead of free admission on your birthday couldn't be used for food.
Oh well, I guess we'll have to get some souvenirs:shrug:
