Ok- I don't want this to turn into a Republican bashing thread or anything like that (I appreciate everyone's opinion) but I am so excited... There are three things that make me happy in life: 1. My husband and son 2. Disney 3. Politics! Anyways, I am going to spend the afternoon with Newt Gingrich!!! He's in town for a seminar sponsored by Patrick Kennedy and my friend is on the detail of picking him up from the airport and taking him back and I get to hang with him this afternoon and take him to the zoo and show him around Providence!! I love travelling with politicians and doing advance work and I get to do that today so I am just a little excited. I know there are those of you who won't share in my joy but hey I had to share it with someone before I burst!! :sohappy: :sohappy:

He was incredible!! He was real down to earth and actually was asking questions about me! I had a great time and he signed my book. I was so nervous that I forgot to ask for a picture and we had the digital camera in the car! The best was seeing my old boss waiting to cross the street and we were at the light. My friend rolls down Newt's window and he waves to him, Newt also waves and smiles and then I roll down my window in the back seat and wave to him! If looks could kill (my old boss is extremely liberal!!)!! We didn't make it to the zoo because he was running late but I managed to get Disney in the conversation, we talked a little about Animal Kingdom, he is a huge animal fan and loves to visit zoo etc. He promised the next time he is in town he would call my friend and me to take him to the zoo. For a political junky like me it's an afternoon that I will never forget!! I just kick myself because I didn't get a picture! :hammer:
