And I agree I think you are thinking of the ride at MK they do have the Kiss the Girl scene in it.

The lasers were nice in the extended version. Shame it was cut, but it still didn’t have what the OP was asking about.

The lasers was one of the best effects of the whole show - it really sold the illusion that we was going down under water!

Nobody else suggested this, so I thought I might ask: is there any chance that you saw a production of the Broadway show and conflated the two?

I've made that mistake, because there are parts that blend together somewhat seamlessly between the two, especially over time.

No it was the little mermaid ride at mk. I verified that today when I rode it. Like I said it’s been a while since I’ve been to Disney World & I’m old lol.
