I think Ellen would have caused the demise of EEA had it not closed already.

Not sure her current controversies would pass Disneys new inclusivity standards.
When they showed her AA would be a good reason..

Not sure. As Vegas Disney Fan says above, with the current and evasive 'cancel culture' that's going around, I don't think this ride would have survived the Ellen fiasco in the first place, let alone worry about honoring Alex's passing.

Disney has shown itself to be the first to 'jump ship' when it comes to these things of late.

Considering her fiasco happened before his passing, it might have been a moot point in the long run.

The original had better effects and songs, that's about it. EEA was much easier to sit through, the original is the biggest reason Epcot had a reputation for being boring in the 80s and 90s.
This. I think people forget that half of it was an industrial promo piece for the oil industry.
