Do you get a discount for booking a room there with DCL for the night before your cruise? Or is it the same price that I can get via their website? Anyone have experience?

I have stayed there once, but I do not believe they offer a DCL special price. I think they have a park and ride price though. Interested to see if anyone knows something different (fingers crossed).

Well, the Hyatt's site shows it's $212.63 with tax for a night in a standard room...the only reason I'm looking into it is because they do just transfer your luggage to DCL, you can book it through DCL, and I just can't do the whole fly the same day of again (by the time I got on the ship I was out cold for a nap until the safety drill)...it also seems a bit pricey for staying at the airport in Orlando, I'm mean I expect to pay that at the Hilton at Newark AIrport or something...

The Hyatt can be pricey, but it actually is a pretty nice hotel. Watch for the price to change and you can always check into stay certificates for your dates too.
Well I mean I'm calling it pricey because it's the Hyatt and not the Contemporary or something. For $212 I'm almost tempted to just go spend the night at a moderate...What do you mean I can always check into stay certificates? Never heard of anything like that...do explain...

The Hyatt can be expensive but totally worth it for the ease of things. They have some great restaurants in the Hyatt and with them taking your luggage and just walking down to the DCL bus transfers, it was so easy. I personally can’t see going all the way to Disney to stay at one of their hotels and then leaving the hotel which I heard can be a pain unless you have time to actually enjoy Disney.

For me, I would consider how late my flights are arriving and how I intend to get to the port. Late flight arrival like after 8 or so? Prob'ly go with Hyatt just to get the rest. If taking Disney transfers that's another reason to stay Hyatt. The first buses from the airport will arrive out at the port hours before the transfers from the resorts. If doing private transfers or rental car I'd prob'ly go with a Disney resort. Lots of variables, I know. I thought our Hyatt bed was pretty uncomfortable. Felt like cardboard, really. The convenience was the big winner. Walk downstairs, grab my Starbucks, & BAM! You're relaxing while waiting for your bus to be called.

I just talked to DCL and the rate you get through them for the Hyatt is actually higher $215) than you get just booking with the hotel itself (~$213)...I guess they figure milk the Disney people for the extra few bucks, but who really knows...

I don't see myself spending a day at the airport so unless it's a late flight I'm starting to lean towards just spending the day at WDW in a resort that will cost me the same...as long as it's an early flight I think WDW would be worth the 30 minutes I'd sit on a bus...at least I'll have a nice pool with some flora and fauna around me, as well as, be able to go on some relaxing strolls. Plus, I would not have to listen to flight patterns all day and night...

Aviation buffs (my husband) could easily spend a whole vacation at a hotel that's out on a flight line. The deciding factor in choosing the Allure Eastern over the Fantasy Eastern is day of week for the St. Maarten port day. Leave it to my old man to know flight schedules at airports in other countries. LOL!

Sorry, crazy weekend! Here's the link:

They're often cheaper but you need to call the hotel and make sure they're taking them for the night you want before you buy it. :)

So if they do take them for the date is there a certain amount I should purchase or the cheapest should do?

They only take a certain number each night, so call and see if they are at their limit. Each Hyatt takes a particular level of certificate. Ask which one they take to confirm which one.
