Trip Report Hurricanes, Foot Pains and “What The Crocs Just Happened?” Anniversary Tale – A Sept/Irma 2017 TR (COMPLETED)

So here we are again… Another amazing trip is over.

IMG_4614.JPG

My original title for the is report was:

The Best-Laid Plans Of The Mouse & Men…
because so many of our carefully thought out schedules & plans were completely turned upside down by Irma and other “forces” along the way.

However, Ross and Julia who do not share my love for Robert Burns or John Steinbeck vetoed that and came up with their own title.

Before I begin our tale, I want to express and offer our thoughts and prayers to all who suffered in Hurricane Irma as well as Harvey & Maria. There are times when I joke about the fact that we were in Florida during the hurricane, but in no way do I not realize the devastation that was caused to so many.

That being said... Let the Trip Report begin! Who’s in?

I have to agree with you about ROL. It doesn't do much for me. I've seen it twice(so I could give it a fair chance) and left both times feeling the same way--not too enthralled. Nice show but wouldn't go out of my way for quite awhile to see it again.

So sweet what Christian did for Hope. Such great memories!! People like that make Disney so special!!

Poor Ross--I feel so bad for him. At first I thought it was kind of funny but as I read along my laughter quickly stopped. It is pretty gross.......

I also started with laughing. But then I thought about it and felt really bad for him. Somehow it would be less gross to me if it were my daughter, but I certainly don't think I could have rallied at DS having been peed on on the bus.

Sweet of him not to make a huge deal about it on the bus though and embarrass the little girl.

Ross who was sitting next to me and still not feeling great leaned over and whispered, “The little girl next to me is peeing.” Now, I have to admit, this is one of my greatest fears that my child will pee in public – so my heart went out to her mom and the little girl. Then Ross whispered again, “It’s dripping down my leg.”

That's revolting. I admit I laughed, but I definitely wouldn't have if it was me in Ross' place (or the poor parents)!

So happy for Hope taking such wonderful strides on the new rides. I'm hopeful for you guys that the omnimover discomfort is temporary since she has enjoyed those rides in the past. That CM and Pocahontas were amazing for making Hope's experience even more magical...that's why I love Disney.

I would love to see empty Magical Express lines. Unfortunately, I can never travel during this time of year because I'm a teacher and school is just starting back. I would totally go during hurricane season. It's my dream to be at WDW when no one else is there. Of course, I'd follow all the directions the CMs give to stay safe but it would still be kind of an adventure.

It's nice to know I'm not the only one who wasn't "wowed" by ROL - maybe it was because I expected too much? I would love to see if Christian is still there next time we visit - I would love for Hope to give him a card.

Thinking about it now, I guess we should have gone right back to the room to change... I'm glad there wasn't a huge deal about it on the bus. Like I said, this is one of my greatest fears so I can sympathize with the mom and little girl.

I'm glad it wasn't worse - just his leg which was bad enough, but yes, I have found that you have to find humor when things go astray.

I understand accidents happen but... ew!!!

Sounds like you guys had a great, full day, at AK however! I'm glad Hope did well on all the rides! :)

I love that we can do almost everything as a family and hopefully we can work on those omnimover rides for next time! Thanks so much for following along!

Thanks so much for reading along! I'm hoping she can kick this fear for the omnimover rides soon. Pocahontas was so awesome and Christian was truly unforgettable! Most people just don't understand why we go back to WDW, but this is why - it's just a magical place!

We love Cape May but I wouldn't like it that late at night. I love the frozen Chai Tea. Yay for Hope on riding new rides. I hope Ross doesn't get to sick.

I wish more places would sell the frozen Chai - but I have only seen it in AK. I knew Cape May was doomed from the start. Unfortunately, I don't think we would give it another shot - it was just that bad of an experience. I wish we would have waited for a better time. Thanks for following along!

I'm with you on your assessment of Pandora and Rivers of Light. I reeeeeeeeally wanted to like them both but I came away from both thinking, "That's it?"

Still loving your report! :)

Thanks for following along! I'm looking forward to trying the food in Pandora next time we visit - and we never got a chance to see it at nighttime - so I am looking forward to that. Hopefully some of the crowds will die down and we can have a good experience. I would only do the river ride again if Hope wants to do it.

It was definitely an adventure! Even though we always travel in September, nothing ever compared to the beginning of this trip. I'm glad we got to experience it. Septembers on a whole seem to be getting more busy since we first started visiting. But I can't image going to WDW during a tradition school break. (We homeschool, so we don't have to worry about missing school.) I don't think I could deal with the crowds!

Thanks for following along!

Well, after 4 years of our household being free of the flu - Miss Hope broke our streak. My little energizer bunny is feeling so yucky! The rest of our house is "quarantined" so we don't get our friends sick - although none of the rest of us seem to have it...yet. The good news is since I have extra time at home, I'm hoping to get another day posted tonight.
