Way to early to tell. Forecasts have it coming into the Gulf but after that it can go anywhere from Texas to Florida.

If it keeps going the direction it is now, it will miss the central Florida region. Just keep watching the weather for updates is all you can do now.

im wondering if all of the thunder storm signs on next week are because of the threat of the tropical storm, anyway, i know its too early to tell, but i thought id take a look anyway..lol

ill check again tomorrow and see the progress, the way they were talking was if it was going to be gone by monday anyway, atleast out of the area...but then again, i didnt go to school for that..lol, i know nothing about weather.

What cracks me up too is that there is ALWAYS a threat of storms in florida, so when i see that as the weather forecast i cant help but laugh....

btw, whats the weather supposed to be like this time of year anyway?

The thunderstorms are typical this time of year...last real month of the rainy season so that's just normal what you are seeing. Temps usually run about 85-90 during the day and at night down to low to mid 70s

The current prediction is to hit between Fort Walton Beach (where I am) and Ceader Key which is in the big bend area. Either way Orlando is likely to get alot of rain if it hits closer to Ceader Key. It is still to early to tell, but they think it will be a category 2 or 3 at landfall.

Weather Policy Question

I know that Disney does not do rain checks, but what about hurricane/tropical storms. What will Disney do if you are on vacation at the property during such an event?

As far as I know, they won't do anything but be sorry you came at a bad time. We were there in 2000 when a tropical storm came through. It rained all one afternoon and night, but then it cleared up and was beautiful the rest of the trip! Just take your umbrellas and ponchos and have a great time. The parks shouldn't be crowded, huh?:veryconfu

Thanks for that link! As of now, it´s going to hit Cuba, not here...

If you could see the sunny and hot days we have had, you wouldn´t think there is a storm around! I don´t think it will hit Orlando, maybe just a few showers, relax.... :animwink:

I'll be there from Saturday to Friday and I can say I'll have fun no matter what. I'll just think of it as a Disney version of Noah's Ark.

"OK Now. I'll find one Donald and one Daisy. You look for a Mickey and Minnie. Goofy and Pluto are screwed." :)

lol, im not too worried, i mean, hey, it could make it fun.

i would imagine they cancel the fireworks and whatnot (if it is raining?). anyway, we are there from monday to thursday (days we are at the park). If we have to modify plans on where to be each day..no biggy...

anyway, im kinda hoping it will scoot bye by monday. According to the probabilites on that website, the probability of it hitting is pretty low, so it seems....

anyway....good luck all!!!

heres what the "discussion" said on the hurricane site sent to me

EACH MODEL HAS
ITS OWN PERSONAL INTERACTION OF ISIDORE WITH A SHORT WAVE OF ITS
CHOOSING...LEADING TO 5 DAY FORECAST POSITIONS RANGING FROM THE
YUCATAN TO JACKSONVILLE. IT IS SIMPLY NOT POSSIBLE YET TO BE
CONFIDENT IN WHICH EVOLUTION WILL TURN OUT TO BE CORRECT...AS VERY
SUBTLE CHANGES IN THE POSITION OF ISIDORE THREE DAYS FROM NOW COULD
TURN OUT TO BE VERY IMPORTANT.

boy, as a red wings fan, i never thought a hurricane would come to bite me in the ....lol get it? you had to be there i guess....but as the red wings did, i hope this hurricane will be beaten.....

Personally I think it is going to continue its course and either hit along Louisian, texas or mexico. I don't see it weakening though

Most hurricanes in Isidore's position head west and don't hit Florida. Hurricanes that hit Florida are usually more north by the time they are this far west.

However, some actually loop east again.

I hate it when they loop east again when I'm at Disney World.

Latest from watching channel 28 (ABC) in Tampa was that the computer models have it coming into the Gulf where it basically sits and spins and grows. After that, the models can't agree. The two scenarios that are coming out tho are that it will either head north and hit up near the panhandle area or, it will do a little loop and then get pushed by a front towards the central Florida region.

My hope is it sits and dies..don't want to see anyone have to deal with a Cat 3 or 4 storm.

My wife and I were at WDW spring break 2001, bad weather was predicted so we went to Wal-Mart and bought rainsuits like you would were on a motorcycle. Sure enough when we got there it poured all day. The Magic Kingdom was empty. Most rides were walk on with no wait. The most fun we had was watching people making mad dashes for cover while we strolled down the middel of the street staying high and dry. Disney can be fun in the rain!

According to the Weather Channel (which is usually pretty accurate), the projected path is still going to the Gulf. The projects are through Monday morning.

I don't think there is a way that the storm is going to die in the Gulf right now. The waters are too warm and there shouldn't be anything that makes the system weaken.

I've done that! As long as you packed extra shoes and socks (or wear sandals) it's great. :D
