Wow that first picture is so eerie, looks like an end of the world type of picture, really hope all will be well in Florida and everywhere else
Not gonna lie. It felt a little like I am legend.

On Saturday when I went to Diagon alley about 45 mins after opening it looked like this:

This whole trip has been an experience. From eerie empty areas with no wait times and walk-on "calm" before the storm- Heck, volcano bay was "ride now" for every ride. To watching the crews hustle and prep. To the impeccable service of the Contemporary resort. I'm honestly thankful to be here, as strange as that sounds. But I'm just a tourist here- I don't have personal property here- so my viewpoint is entirely different than the locals.
Regardless- I'm glad I get to share this stuff with y'all.

Wow, nearly 6 million without power. That's close to 1/3 of the residents of the state.

Now that it's daylight, I'm watching the trees blow. Hoping that we don't get much stronger winds. But I'm glad I can have a hot breakfast this morning.

My sympathies to the residents of Naples and Fort Myers and nearby communities. They took a real pounding.

Glad WDW made it through okay.

I'd really like to say I'm sorry to anyone I offended with my comment It was not meant to be selfish but I can see how it was taken that way I am praying for everyone in Florida and all affected areas
You didn't use any hyperbole (Rescheduling my trip is the worst thing ever!!!). You didn't make any off-color jokes. You didn't steal any food out of a storm refugee's hands. You don't have to apologize. You did exactly what some of the people shouting you down were pleading for you to do earlier in the thread-- don't come to Florida in the direct aftermath of the storm. The people shaming you should be thanking you. It's just something about the Internet where people can't wait to jump down someone's throat.

Edit: And Flower & Garden is very beautiful, with a mini-Food & Wine added now, too!

Someone at the Tallahassee Democrat really needs to proof read their online stories. According to an article I just read, 58.7 million, or 60 percent of all utility customers in the state, are without power. Did Florida suddenly double its population over night? Last time I checked, like yesterday, there are only 21 million residents in Florida. I realize we get a lot of tourists......

Using the numbers the paper published, the total population of Florida would be nearly 99 million. So I guess we just passed California, which has 39 million residents, as the most populated state. Who knew....

Sometimes misplaced decimals matter.

I’m sorry but I’m not thanking anyone for asking to be ‘cheered up’ for having to reschedule their vacation in the midst of this disaster. If you are not here experiencing it I’m sorry but you don’t get it. The message was inappropriate at a minimum and at best terribly insensitive and selfish in this thread full stop.

It’s fine to be disappointed but don’t be so insensitive to all of us going though this to put it in this thread.

They're probably counting all the tourists who came to town for a magical Disney hurricane experience.

I mean, bloggers alone could probable account for half of that total.

Stuff like this is why I rarely post here anymore.

And then there's all the people who evacuated to Orlando and Tampa who have no idea how their homes or businesses made it thru the storm surge and wind.

Please everyone, send prayers, and if you don't pray- please send good thoughts. It's going to be a long time to rebuild in many areas. Let's hope the death toll is as low as possible.
