Kissimmee here. Just waking up. Can’t see much as it’s still kind of dark. Our power is still on. Street doesn’t appear to be flooded, but our neighborhood has always had very good drainage. I see a lot of branches in the yard but no trees missing that I can see just yet. I’ll probably have more to offer (and a photo or two) when the sun comes fully up. It’s hard to see much. Looks like the worst has passed according to the radar.

The Poinciana side of Kissimmee (not the side of town I live on) has always had notoriously terrible drainage, for what it’s worth. They get flooding in our regular afternoon thunderstorms, so I can only imagine what we’re gonna see from over there last night as the day unfolds.

Poinciana Blvd that leads to 192 in Kissimmee I would not surprised would be affected. The trailer parks that locals live in that still have dirt roads have little to no drainage.

We have a trip planned in 2 weeks and wanted to check out what is going in WDW.. But what others are dealing with right now, makes are non-real problems embarassing to even thing about. I hope all are safe.. Where we live we only have tornados to deal with..

Even if WDW is up and running, we might cancel if the outlying areas are still recovering. We are driving down so a bit flexable. I hear Kissimimee is in flooded and we just feel it's maybe best to stay away the area until things are better and that might be a while.

The actual 192 in that area used to flood massively. We nearly drowned a rental car in it once 😬 One of those dirt roads has a random little resort hotel hidden away at the end of it with ground floor rooms. Dare say they're more like swimming pools now though!

I imagine Disney and Universal are making their decisions about Friday and the weekend depending on those circumstances.

Man Universal must be lucky. The wetlands advantage doesn't help them much when they're surrounded by urban sprawl.

Just now joining the conversation.. Just coming up past 15 minutes.. "100s of fatalities" I hope he is jumping too soon on that conclusion.

Considering how many people in that area are low-income, disabled and likely needed assistance to evacuate, not to mention the path changed so quickly there wasn't enough time to make a full evacuation, I feared this exact scenario was going to happen.

I had seem some stuff on twitter showing some rooms with water coming through the doors as the winds drives the rain through but not seen anything else yet.
Currently at Caribbean Beach. The worst has now passed, and can't see any damage or flooding outside our window. We had to put some towels down though to stop the wind driving the water under the door and ac unit. The carpet's a little damp but it's fine

I almost got stuck on Poinciana Blvd right near 192 (so not “deep in Poinciana” as they say) during an afternoon thunderstorm. It’s amazing how poor the drainage is in such a highly trafficked area.
