It what heart breaking to see them taking this ride apart when there at the start of November
Has it started to be rebuilt yet? Any pictures of that would be amazing. To see what is rising from the destruction

A fair amount of the back track is installed, once the footers cure for the front part that will be installed. It is onsite. You will need to check other sites for pictures, they are out there.

I honestly thought they were going to enclose part of the section of the track in the back to have an actual encounter with the Hulk. Kind of like expedition everest... missed opportunity. :(

Has any park ever rebuilt the exact same coaster turn for turn due to replacement (not fire, accident, etc)?

I'm glad they did- why mess with a great thing. It's going to be so interesting to feel the difference between the old track/cars and the new.

DL Space Mountain had a complete turn-by-turn rebuild from the ground up. Thunder Mountain also had a complete re-track, but not sure if they also replaced the underlying supports.

Never a B&M

They had the chance and it would not have been much longer before they were forced to do it. Hope they learned a lesson from the first install. This is one of the eariler B&M installed and they went a little light on the footings (Hulk power too much!) so there was some stress cracking. Nothing was going to fall down but when you have the chance to make it right for the long run why not?

Space at WDW anyone?

There must have been something wonky going on, because there are plenty of older B&Ms out there- Kumba, Montu, and just think of all the Batmen out there.

The launch would still determine the forces that the track endured.

I don't see how.
I'm sure the engineering is more complex than I'm imagining it, but I would suppose that the forces exerted on the track elements after the launch are determined by the mass of the train and its velocity as it moves through each section, which would be the same whether that velocity had been imparted by a launch or a traditional lift hill- force should still be force.

Think of how slow Dragon Challenge is moving as it leave the lift hill versus how fast The Incredible Hulk is moving at the top of the launch hill. The launch means the trains are moving with more than just the power of gravity.

Yeah, but that speed could just as well have been achieved with a taller lift hill. There's nothing special about kinetic energy generated by a launch vs a lift hill once the train has finished accelerating.
If Hulk was badly designed and is moving through its initial maneuvers at a faster speed than it should, then that's a separate issue from the manner of its initial acceleration.

That initial acceleration is what would cause the train to be moving through the track faster than originally anticipated.
