so you have been a nurse for about 2 months now....give or take a few weeks.....is it all that you thought it would be?

Wow! What a good memory you have. It was about what I expected. I have worked in healthcare for over 10 years in one capacity or another so patient care was never the issue. This is my first hospital position and it is a big change from the Ambulatory Care setting I was used to. The floor I work on has pretty sick patients with alot of things going on at the same time so you really have to be aware of what is going on all the time. It is a monitored floor, so you also have to keep an eye on the monitors frequently. It is a challenge but it is exciting and it will give me the experience I need to move on to bigger and greater things (Hopefully Surgery). It's just a lot to learn and absorb in a short time frame, not to even mention the specialized classes I have to take. Thanks for asking.:)

Wow...it's awesome you have all that experience so it wouldn't be too much of a culture shock. I'm sure with time you will move on to the greater things you want to do :)
