We had some really yucky news. 
The only job my hubby could get last year was a job contracting for a local software company. Well, we've been putting away money for taxes, since technically, he's self employed. So, we finally saw a tax specialist and we found out we owe an extra $5k in taxes because of some self-employment tax and both sides of the SS tax!! Ouch! We have JUST that amount in our savings. It took us over a year to save up that money.
We were just about to get out of this one bedroom apartment and go on a vacation (we haven't been on a vacation since our honeymoon). Now we're back down to zero in our savings. My hubby is from England and is pretty bummed out about the US right now. He said he thought it was a land of opportunity... I'm trying to cheer him up, but I'm a little bitter myself. I feel like we're in Nottingham and the fat 'ole Sheriff just came and took our last penny.
So, I think we both could use a hug, if anyone has one to spare.

I went to meet a potential employer today for a summer internship. Unfortunately, I don't think I like the job. I'm gonna meet him again on Monday but it's starting to look like I will turn it down. Sigh... this means it's back to job searching. With only a month and a half left till summer, I don't know if I'll be successful in finding a job. I've been searching for months and nothing's coming up. This is getting depressing. Where are you Disney? Why won't you respond to me, I need you!

They are Disney... hence... they dont have to respond to anyone.
Allthough... I did get a nice letter back a few years ago... when I applied for the Editors posistion of 'Eyes and Ears'. But I sent that resume in via snail mail I think. THE ONLY time out of hundreds of times that I have applied for professional jobs with them. :lol:

I could use a few huggles; they are predicting 4 - 6 inches of snow overnight. We have had snow for the last 2 days (with 2 hr school delays each morning) and I'm not sure I can take much more. My Tiger Lily greens are peeking out thru the snow and I saw a robin today. I NEED SPRING!!!
