Ditto. Hope she didn't fall asleep during Lion King after all that driving.

figmentmom said:Well, wedding plans were proceeding quite nicely until Sara and Jason ventured onto the Sea of the Guest List, an area fraught with peril. They would like to keep things small and intimate, but the problem for them is that our side of the immediate family numbers 21 (including me and my husband, cousins and spouses, and a great-aunt who will definitely not come but must be invited), while his side of the family numbers into the triple digits. So, Sara is afraid that if they invite the aunts, uncles and cousins on our meager side of the family tree, and DON'T invite the corresponding relatives on Jason's far leafier side of the family tree, hurt feelings and possibly mayhem will ensue.

Shame about that - quite often understudys are as good as the main person (a mate of mine is the Mufasa understudy in Germany).xfkirsten said:I didn't care for the guy playing Adult Simba, though (he was an understudy)
Erika said:Tell her not to stress out. We had the same situation with our wedding. Bottom line, we couldn't possibly afford to invite all those people. My side was the far lighter side and John's was the side with all the relatives. On his side, we invited only the people we were close to or saw on a fairly regular basis. HE decided who from his family was invited- no one else. I hate to sound cold but why go bankrupt just to avoid stepping on a few toes? We had made a pact early on that in all matters, he'd handle his own family and I'd handle mine. That way we'd protect each other from any kind of in-law ugliness. A couple of people were unhappy but everybody understood our position. It's a wedding, not a red-carpet event. If somebody truly wants to see the ceremony they can go to the Church (or wherever it is being held). That's what the day is truly about; not the party afterward.
Good luck!!!

Snowy Saturday huggles for all - it's coming down like crazy.
No snow here, but plenty of storm force winds.xfkirsten said:It's actually pretty snowy here in Seattle, too! It came down pretty good last night, but it's stopped for now.
