Was told this morning that my friend's brother's funeral will be held out of state on the 24th and am feeling very guilty about not going. I know this sounds abit selfish, but I don't want to be away from my kids on Christmas morning (no seats available on any flights). I've already been told by my friend's family not to worry about it but still.......

I think your friend’s family are more than aware of your feelings and won't put a geographical limit on their effectiveness.

Thanks folks - I'm not one to fall in love, more saunter in a downwards direction, so I was enjoying the walk and got the "just good friends" speech. I'm cool with friends and fortunately this was not a case of the soaring heart being dashed on the rocks.

I don't know.... I still have a feeling here. Not a "we are meant to be" thing, but that there will be something more than "just friends". We may never be partners, but there is something I can't quite nail down.

Time will tell.
