 Wouldn't suprise me if I did.

Last night was the 4th time I sprained my ankle and always the right side. First time when I was 14 playing basketball, then when I was 17 while jogging and the third time while I was learning to surf. Oh, I just realized that I sprain my ankle every 3 years...I better be careful when I'm 26.

I never sprained my ankle. But I did fly face-first into a glass board when I went ice skating once. That was fun. :lookaroun

LOL! I sprained my right ankle during my senior year of high school when I tripped on the stairs leaving my house for school in the morning. Since I am the kind of person who would rather hide an injury than go to a doctor, I hobbled around on it all day at school... and got a loud earful for it from the doctor when I was finally dragged there kicking and screaming. That was a pretty nasty sprain, too - and the fact that I refused to use crutches didn't make the recovery any faster. I'm not a difficult patient, no! :lookaroun

I think I may have sprained it once before that, too, freshman year of HS. In the opening minutes of a basketball game, I jumped for a rebound and came down on someone's leg and twisted my ankle. It hurt like hell, but I really wanted to keep playing, so I s ucked it up and ran on it all night. Walking was VERY difficult for awhile after that game, but so far as I know, my parents never caught on. :p

I wrecked my right ankle when I was a kid. All I have to do is step on a rock or uneven surface & it twists & swells up to 3 times its normal size. It seemsiIts always sprained. I even have my own personal crutches set at just the right height. *sigh*

Here's my ankle injury story - it was the finale of the musical Blondel, in which I palyed King Richard The Lionheart. I made my entrace for my bow, my boot stuck to the stage but as it was a little big for me (the boot, not the stage) my foot slid across the sole then twisted and down I went.

I got up and knew something was not good, but finished the performance and wlaked off stage. Turns out I had finsihed the show with a clean fracture to the ankle. I was in plaster for eight weeks. Two weeks after the cast was off I was playing Motel in Fiddler on the Roof, where I had to change the movement in one part of my song, because my ankle would not bend enough to allow me to run backwards.

Since this episode nobody wishes me "break a leg" before a show

I had lasik done last May. BEST MONEY I EVER SPENT!!!

Glad to hear Figmentdad's surgery went well. Drops, drops, drops! Lots of drops! I still use artificial tears a few times a day. But I had a really high prescription so technicly my eyes are STILL healing. Bottles of drops in every room of the house, 2 in my purse, 2 on my desk at work....

Have the surgery done Darell! My only suggestion, is that after the surgery, go immediately home and go to bed. Try to sleep. If you can't sleep, at least lay there with your eyes closed for about 2-3 hours. If you do that, the scratchy feeling should be gone by the time you get up. I learned from friends and my own experience that not all doctor's tell you to do this.. but they should! When I woke up, I was just fine. No sand-in-the-eyes feeling at all and not a bit scratchy. Not even watery. They felt perfectly normal. I went to work the next day and drove myself! No problem at all. You have to do what feels right for you, of course. Don't drive even if you have the slightest hestitation about it. Better to be safe. Sorry I didn't get on the boards before Figmentdad's surgery to make this recommendation! I hope he's doing well!

Thanks for the advise wsapooh! :D

I drove figmentdad to his day-after-lasik-surgery checkup, and he's doing GREAT!!! No pain, only a very slight scratchy feeling in his eyes, alleviated by lots and lots of drops (thanks for the tip, wsapooh - you're exactly right! ) His distance vision already tests at 20-20 in each eye, 20-15 using both eyes together - excellent results already! His vision up close is blurry, and the doctor said to expect that for a while.

Thanks again for the good wishes, everyone! Darrel - go for it!

I have a whole series of job interviews coming up, starting tommorrow. I'm really nervous right now. I try not to think too hard about them but it's hard not to think about your future. I hope I can come out of them with some offers. *crosses fingers*
