Couldnt if I had wanted to. Mr. O wasnt in today. Half the class was trying to buy them. :brick:

I need to go to the library when I come home, my book is in.

Maybe he will give you guys one since he was absent.

Of course if you had worked on it earlier you wouldn't be in thus predicament now though. :lookaroun

The guy is a jerk, but I've gotten used to that fact. Part of me thinks he did this on purpose.

Late April - Friday Afternoon huggles!

What to do after work? Mix up a pitcher of margaritas and enjoy the 70 degree low humidity sunset . . . or . . . go to a movie?

Here's a shocker for our huggle teens . . . if you are still out there. At our local theater - complaints of behavior of "roving throngs of teens" on weekend nights prompted management to implement this rule. As Dave Barry likes to say, "I am not making this up."

Individuals under 17 years of age are not admitted to any movies without a parent.

Let that sink in.

17 year old and 16 year old on date - the 16 year old can't come in.
Mom buys ticket for 14 year old to a PG movie - he can't come in unless Mom comes, too.
Group of kids at sleepover want to go to movie - Parents show up with 6 kids. The kids who are not children of the adult are not admitted.

Yes, things are nutty around here!

There is a chain of nicer theaters in the Detroit area that did not allow kids under 17 to see any film after 8pm.....which was nice

I think they have an entire mall like that here by me. Anyone under a certain age (which I think is 17) isn't allowed without parental guidance.

It's kind of a shame that kids nowadays just can't be trusted. Guess it goes with that mass mentaility that was shown oh so well in that one kid's trip report.

Well it wasn't a kid who stalked the manager of the Old Navy store and murdered him!

To be honest, I haven't seen any problems with the roving packs of teens that everyone is afraid of. Then again I tend to go earlier in the day. *shrugs*

Interesting to see that this age discrimination is not limited to this market. If I couldn't have taken dates to the movies on Friday and Saturday nights back when I was a teen, the options for going out would have been very limited.

I can just envision the conversation with the parent of my date:

Parent: So, what are your plans for the evening?

Me: (edited to avoid disclosure of incriminating evidence of a mis-spent youth)

Parent: Like hell you will! *kicks me out front door (with no date)*

Me: I HATE growing up in this place!

well...our mall that had that done is a mall you don't usually want to go to during the day...much less at night...so I guess I kind of understand...

Its pretty annoying that malls and movies dont let teens in, especially here. I know every kid complains that there isnt anything to do in their town, but when I say it, I mean it. There is ABSOLUTELY nothing in this town for teens to do. If you can find a way to get to the mall (the closest is like a half hour away) and you find out that you cant hang out there, your kinda screwed. There isnt anywhere else to go!

I havent been thrown out of our mall, but like I said, I look a little older than 17. We've been known to drive a half hour out of our way to go to a different theater that welcomes teens after 7.

That's what my teens do now, too. I hate them being on the Interstate the extra distance!

teens do not have the same rights as adults......one could say it is age discimination that a 4 year old can not vote or drink beer

hey, you are talking to a dad of teenagers - I am in favor of some age discrimination in that respect. I engage in it every day.
