I don't remember a song in Brave...but anyway, your idea is awesome. But is it likely to happen?
I'm a big fan of "Touch the Sky" from Brave, one issue here is that it would be the first Pixar movie in Fantasyland, but it would also be a Fairytale which brings us back to a question I asked earlier about what should and shouldn't be allowed in Fantasyland.

They don't use the tech nearly as much or the way they should. TSMM should have holiday versions, ST should have had more planets added by now, etc.
Beyond the variable shows, a component that theoretically makes it easier to add the likes of Tangled, Frozen and Brave because the CGI data already exists. This makes new animation a little easier than it initially would have been for the original PhilharMagic.

I agree I remeber when TSMM the big thing was how they could change the games and add things, in fact I think they did some TS3 charter additions after the movie, but I could be wrong. Holiday edition would be great however it will make a popular attraction just that more popular

Am I the only one still confused? Were your tweets all sarcasm @HTF ?

@HTF can you clear those tweets up for us please lol?
Why? He doesn't need to, he explained himself pretty clearly already. We know now that Frozen is indeed coming to 3 of the 4 WDW parks, a statement backed up by numerous others on this board as well as official announcements. MK already has its meet and greet, EPCOT is getting a cheaply done Frozen overlay for Maelstrom according to numerous insiders here and DHS is getting a new (also cheap/rushed) entertainment offering that was officially announced within the past couple of days. So his info was spot on there.

It's clear he was being sarcastic about being excited and buying Disney passes. That also includes remarks about E tickets. HTF stated in this thread that he hated Frozen. The attractions are being given the minimal effort and budget and likely won't impress anyone who isn't blindly loyal to the movie and everything Disney does. HTF was serious about Frozen coming to the parks, but was mocking Disney for the cheapness in which it is being being done (even given his own dislike of the movie).

I actually like the movie myself (to an extent anyways, it's massively overrated and doesn't even come close to touching the best Disney animated movies out there including the brilliant ones from the 90's) and would love to see a great new ride based on it (IF done in an appropriate location and with a lot of effort/budget, even good IDEAS require all of those elements to not fail). But even people who like the movie should be offended about the way the company is cashing in on its success and putting no effort, money or thought into its park presence.

A friend of mine who worked on designing/building TSMM in DCA and WDW told me during the months leading up to the attraction's opening (during 24 hour testing at DCA) that they had created Halloween and Christmas versions of the games that could be 'turned on' during a standard overnight closure.

The idea at the time was the let the attraction operate normally for a year or two, and once the popularity died down a little they would bring in the special games for the holidays. There's a chance that it's still so popular that they don't want to increase the demand any (at least in WDW), but more likely it seems that they have forgotten that they have that resource available to them

That makes since, there is no reason to add to the appeal of this ride

The info out there is that it would be Frozen, Brave and Rapunzel. Personally, I'd love to see a PhilharMagic show where the selection of music can change show to show a la Star Tours.
AGREE.

In fact, I think Disney should be doing something like this with every single piece of filmed or audit-animatronic show. Every one of them should have multiple versions. Some random; some seasonal; some changing on schedule throughout the day. Create a desire and reason to re-ride for a similar, but somewhat different, experience.

Country Bears
Tiki
Philharmagic
Toy Story Mania
Mission:Space
It's Tough to be a Bug
Hall of Presidents
O Canada

So many possibilities.

Reimagining Philharmagic should involve removing anything that does not mesh with the aesthetics of the FLE. Plenty of material available without using the fab 5. I'd add BatB, Cindy, SB and Alice to the above. Then it works.

Good, happy to here they are making progress.

Saw it once. Thought it was in the wrong land. Erased it from my memory. I may be the last Disney parks purist left.
I think the attraction fits just fine, after all the golden revue had plenty of acts in it that weren't "fantasyland".

Nether did 20K, the skyway or IaSW.

Imagine if someone within Uni's "Imagineering" suggested adding a Simpsons photo op or a Dr Suess shop within Diagon Alley. That person would likely not last the day and be escorted to their vehicle.

And I can't even fathom what would happen on these boards if they actually added Simpsons and Dr Suess to DA. :banghead:

let's not start the whole small world thing again. But philharmagic isn't as intrusive or out of place as you could argue 20k was. But even so 20k was a lovely attraction that did sort of bring the charm of fantasy with it, mermaids, sea serpents, and giant squids. It fit nicely in the little back pocket of where it was. I remember as a kid looking at that lagoon and thinking of the mermaids and creates that must have lived in the cave in the back.

20K is one of the best attractions ever. And no doubt it inspired TDS's MI. It needed a land that fit the theme and that happened elsewhere. It really was out of place in the MK.

As some suggested Philharmagic would work great on MSUSA. Or possibly DHS. Or FL if they drop the fab 5 characters in a reimagined show.

Immersive believable environments are vital. And you will see this with DA. I highly doubt you will see an attendence drop as happened with FJ. Hogwarts Express ensures that because it adds to a believable environment free from inconsistencies. It will never stop drawing crowds because of that. The FLE should be imagineered the same way. And that certainly seems to be the direction they have moved the last couple decades. They just need to complete the task. That would be an answer to DA.

IMO.
