How wet do you get on Splash Mountain?

I've been to WDW 3 times previously, but never ridden this ride. We'll be there next week so I'm a little concerned about getting wet and cold weather.

It all depends like others have said, seat location, weight, etc. I know personally, I hate it when its kinda cool out and they have the cannons on. Im just glad that I know about it and can anticipate the cannons nailing me when a log goes down the big drop. I know its a water ride, but I think a lot of people wont expect to get soaked the way you do on Splash Moutain, and I know if I didnt expect the cannon to hit me and it did, Id be pretty mad.

Lots of great advice here! I am impressed. The bottom line is that you don't really know. I have ridden that ride every visit for 12 years at least once per trip. It's my favorite ride in the parks, and it never gets old. I have had every possible seat position, and ridden in every possible weather condition. Sometimes you get a spray, and sometimes pretty wet, but never completely drenched like Kali river rapids, or Dudley DooRight over at Universal. Sometimes the person in front of you takes the hit, and other times they spend every possible water moment crouched down below the lip of the boat and let everything fly into your face. You just don't know. If it's cool outside wear a poncho. Put plastic under your bottom to avoid the water in the seats (its not usually too bad unless it was empty the ride before). If it's hot outside then you are never drenched too badly to be uncomfortable. But for goodness sake go. It's one of the most magical attractions every made. Happy and musical and colorful and wonderful and not the least bit "sappy". Disney spared no expense and tossed everything possible into this ride. Worth the admission to the Magic Kingdom all by itself. (OK, maybe I am going a little over the top, but it's really great!) I admit my kids prefer Space Mountain for the rush, but everyone in the family can agree that Splash Mountain is a masterpiece, and one of the things that makes Disney....."Disney".

Advice from a 47 year old Disney fanatic.

We were there in October and I got a face full! Our clothes didn't get soaked, just our heads! It was just after the drop and I thought "that wasn't too bad", ha. I've never gotten wet on Pirates or Maelstrom but soaked on Kali. I was the lady people were staring at saying "I didn't know you got THAT wet" while my daughter walked away practically dry, laughing hysterically and taking my picture to relive and laugh some more.:ROFLOL:
Don't go on any of the water rides expecting to stay dry.

I never seem to get "really" wet on the drop, no matter what seat I am in. Just some spray.

As was said before, the worst is when the boat is off-plane and you get some of the bow wake over the sides. When it sloshes in on your leg thats when you get wet.

On the way into the mountain at the top, after you go around the briar patch, there is a pop jet that works in warmer weather. It's sequenced to the boats going down the main drop. That one ALLWAYS hits me (and most of the time only me) no matter where I am sitting. Right smack in the torso.

You can get VERY WET

Last year, we happened to be going up exactly when the car's were coming down. Needless to say the splash that resulted from the down car hit me. I was so wet. To the bone. My sneakers squished when I walked. My underwear were soaked. I know it was probably a freak thing but was I soaked:veryconfu

What happened to Sunshine8 can happen to anybody. If you sit in the front of the log and you have some weight, you can get a roll of water that comes right over the top and into your lap.

I don't usually get very wet, but never stay completely dry either.

but Splash Mountain doesn't get you nearly as wet as its counterpart Dudley Do-Right at Universal -Islands of Adventure. I am still cursing that ride!
