How to tour World Showcase

We'll be heading down soon (9 days!) and I really don't know much about the World Showcase. Have only been there once and at the time I was tired and hot and we kinda blitzed through there.

What is the best way to tour the World Showcase? Do you ride all the rides in each country? Just walk through all the shops? I think I would enjoy some of the shows -- I assume the showtimes are listed on the printed schedule that's available at the entrance to Epcot?

So - how do you tour WS?

The best way to enjoy World Showcase? TAKE YOUR TIME....just stroll through each country and enjoy it

we never have time to go back to epcot much as i think it is more of a one and half day park, you can never fit everything in! Funnily enough i did more in epcot, when i went on 4th of july (and im not even american) then i did any other trip, unless there is some makor event/date taking place you just do not realise how you could spend fillinf ur day! we only ever do futureworld in the morning then we hit world showcase. we try get their around 11.30/12.00 for lunch. we have tried going both ways round and darting back and forth but feel it is just better to start at one end and work your way around! we always start at mexico now, even though so many sites say to do everything counter clockwise.(and we always stay at the boardwalk so if we start late we actally walk the long way round to mexico). I always make ADRS for world showcase and keep them unless i physically get stuck somewhere, as i do not think its fair to book a slot and not go! worldshowcase has amazing dinning options! i think it is fair to say we go around clockwise and if there is a huge wait for mexico or norway we just miss them we do not even bother getting fastpasses as we know there is soo much more to do! we usually get lunch at mexico and dinner at japan or canada, just so it is timed with the pace and then go find a nice spot with friends and family about 8.15 for illumintaions and just chill. were lucky though at the boardwalk that we can just wonder into world showcase on our quietier days and look around and try other dinning options! hope this helps

Thanks everyone! I like the idea of "leaving theme park mode and entering tourist mode." Will also definitely check out Kim Possible.

I was listening to a podcast and learned about the option to buy a passport that the kids can have stamped as you tour - that'll be fun. And the "must" to buy pastries in France.

We have ADRs in Mexico, Norway, and Italy - so we're looking forward to that.

WS tour

We always start with Mexico and do the ride first. We also stop at as many counter service stops as we can along the way. The food is amazing. There are also some great character stops tucked away in different countries.

We always start in canada and work our way around to Germany around 4:00. The Biergarten restaurant there is amazing one of my favorites but you need reservations. WE do all the rides and movies. Dont Forget the American Adeventure.

My wife and I always dedicate a minimum of 6 hours to the countries. We try to start early to mid afternoon and then be in position for illuminations @ 9:00. We like to take our time and look for any new things that may have been added since our last trip, and yes, we do all the attractions as well. As well as a beverage or two as well.......:D

As my kids are getting older, we are spending more and more time in world showcase. I also recommend spending at least 5 hours there. We start in Canada and go towards Mexico. We do all the rides and some of the movie (normally China and one other movie). We then do Test track and Mission Space then backtrack to get a spot for illuminations. This is probably not the most logical way to tour Epcot but it seems to work for us.
