How to get to Animal Kingdom Resort

Is it possible to walk from Animal Kingdom to Animal Kingdom Resort? How long of a walk is it?

You could walk if you would like but, just go to the resort buses and ride it to AKL.

There isn't a path, so it'd be like an hour walk by the time you got there. It'd be better to jump hop on the bus

I was thinking of booking a priority seating for lunch at the Lodge. I wondered the best way to get there from Animal Kingdom. Thanks so much for your help, everyone!

I'm not sure WDW permits walking from the AK to the AKL.

It's only about a mile away, maybe five minutes tops on a bus...your only mode of transportation.

I have heard a rumor...strictly a rumor...that a walkway is planned between the two.

I remember there being "No Pedestrian" signs on the drive leading to the lodge, and no sidewalks. This may have changed since my last stay there. (Feb) I would love to walk the mile or so, but only if it is a walk away from traffic; like the walkway between the studios and Epcot resorts.

I love the walkway between epcot and the studios we try to do it atleast twice everytrip, Never anyone on it.

And yes a walk way from animal kingdom and ak lodge would be great. I dont think you can walk it unless you like walking along the same roads the bus take. I looked last time i was there didnt look to safe.

Walking really isn't allowed... in fact, I'm sure a security guard would stop you. Although AKL is just around the corner from DAK, it's not a short walk.

As for a proposed walkway... I'm not saying it's impossible, but highly improbable. The walkway would most likely be located in an area that Disney would rather guests not walk by. (Secure areas)

Yeah, I remember seeing signs and gates saying "NO Guest Entrance, Secure Area".

I found AK to be so spread out and huge I was relieved to hop on the bus and get a break from walking :animwink: It's a very short ride on the bus, I think you'll welcome the break. When is your trip planned for?
