How to get from dhs to Epcot?

Had to do some rearranging to our dining plns, dbf has expressed a lot of interest in wanting to try coral reef at epcot(childhood dream of eating next to a giant fishtank) lol. So we will be trying coral reef instead of 50's, we will be spending the day at dhs then going to coral reef for supper. What is the easiest way to get there and how long will the transportation take? Thanks!

They have a boat that goes between Epcot & Hollywood Studios. The boat ride usually takes around 20 minutes as they make stops at the Broadwalk, Yacht & Beach Club & Swan & Dolphin. If the boat is at the dock at Hollywood Studios this would be a the way to go. If it isn't you could always walk to Epcot from there and depending on you walking speed could take you about the same amount of time.

There is also the bus like a previous poster stated which drops you off at the front of Epcot. You can take buses from park to park, the only place that buses from the parks don't go is DTD.

Let me clear up some things since these answers have left out information.

The quickest way is the bus -- you get it at the Main Entrance (straight ahead and on the main entrance route) Park to Park takes about 10 minutes -- but you can have up to a 30 minute wait in between busses at certain times of day. Less around lunch and dinner times. This is by far the closest dropoff spot to Coral Reef.

The next quickest way is the boat -- you pick it up directly to the left of the main entrance as you exit -- it takes 30 minutes (not 20) and it makes stops at three resorts but continues on to the International Gateway (i.e. back entrance by France) at Epcot. That means a long 15 minute walk to the front of the park and your Coral Reef dinner.

While it is possible to walk from DHS to Epcot, it's a very very long, and very hot walk -- and then another 15 minutes to the front of the park. Don't do it.

I've done this trip many many times, and I would highly recommend you just take the bus. If you had dinner reservations in World Showcase, I would recommend you take the boat. I would never recommend you walk.

Spot on. My experience is exactly the same.

Agreed on taking the bus if time is your major concern. Personally I find the boat ride enjoyable so if you want to unwind before dinner you could do the boat and then walk but give yourself a full hour if you plan on doing that.

The boat ride itself is around 30 min - add on 15 min wait time (you may not have to wait but you never know) and 15 min to walk through the Epcot (may not take that long but to be safe)

As the others have stated, the bus is the quickest route.

If you are wanting an alternative, take the boat and get off at Swan and Dolphin...the fist stop. Take a left after you exit. You'll be at the backside of Boardwalk. You can walk veering to the right and walk along the boardwalk, then over the bridge and into the International Gateway into Epcot. You'll just turn left and go through UK and then Canada...and then keep veering left to get back to Coral Reef. It's a great walk if you want to see Boardwalk and you'll be there by the time the boat gets there, if not before. I'd rather do that quiet walk through Boardwalk and International Gateway then the bus and into EPCOT's front entrance. Not saying it's quicker, but I just prefer that route.

Whenever my family and I park hop from DHS to EP (and vice versa), we walk. Granted the walk is long (15 min. from entrance to entrance, plus another 10-15 min. from International Gateway entrance to Coral Reef entrance), but it gives us a chance to see more of the Disney properties. Along the way, we stop in at the Boardwalk Bakery for treats...mmmm:slurp:

If you're looking for a romantic route, the walkway is a nice alternative (rarely anyone uses it).

If you're looking to save time (and give the feet a break), the bus is your best bet.

If you're looking for another romantic route, with a bit of time to spare (along with the soles of your shoes), hop on the boat.

Enjoy the trip!

My personal choice is the boat. It's a nice ride and is relaxing. Like others have said though be sure to give yourself time. I'd say plan to be at the boat launch at DHS 50-60 min before your reservation is. You may have to wait 10-15 min for a boat, then the ride is 20-25 min and then the walk in Epcot is another 10mins.

Walking is the fastest way unless you catch the bus right away. As already mentioned, you could wait 15 minutes or more waiting for the bus to get there.

The walk is quite long at about 1.6 miles from DHS entrance to Living Seas, but it is quicker than taking the boat. We always walk between the 2 parks and the walk also works up the apetite for dinner.

I personally enjoy the walk from the Studios to Epcot, particularly in an evening or when I can stop at Beaches and Cream for ice cream. Plus I know roughly how long it will take me which I can plan around. With the bus you can be lucky and arrive when a bus is there ready and waiting or you may have to wait 30 minutes, I have experienced both.

I find the boat hot and noisy at times and seems to take a while having to stop at the Swan and Dolphin and then Yacht and Beach club before getting to the International Gateway.

The bus is okay, as long as you don't have to wait too long. There is very little shade where the Epcot bus picks up which isn't great on a hot clear day, granted that is also an issue if you walk.
