Would WDW survive a 3.0 + tornado/hurricane? Has the parks and resorts been "over-engineered" to a point where damage would be minimal?

If you were at the world and a storm did arise, which park would be safest and which resort would be the best to be at?

I am not bieng paranoid , just curious...

Try a search. This has been discussed quite a bit in the past (shelters, evacs etc) and may be worth a read

Not sure about WDW, but while we were at Universal last year, we made it through a tornado. It was brief and took place at the far end of the park near Revenge of the Mummy. Oddly, it was indoors and Bill Paxton and Helen Hunt kept appearing on TV's.

We were @ MK in the spring of 2010 when the weather took a turn for the worse! The park cleared out, but there was buckets of rain and a whole lotta lightning, so we took shelter under the patio by the "Dole Whip" place in Adventureland. We were under a tornado warning! The CMs were close by and I asked what we'd do. He said we'd take our guests underground! I felt very safe knowing that the CMs knew exactly what to do!

Rode out Hurricane Erin 1995 that was a Category two. From what is now the Shades of Green resort.

We were fine.

Even went to the parks after the worst day. :)

Tornado could mean extreme devastation to WDW. I can not even imagine what would happen if an F4 went through the MK, it would take out everything in its path.

the majority of Florida builds their houses to withstand category 5 hurricanes, so i assume they'd also withstand tornadoes as well. i don't think Disney is any different. their stuff can withstand internal damage and heavy rainfall, i think they can withstand silly super whirlwinds :)

My brother & sister-in-law up in Ringgold, GA (and my nephew's middle school) just shake their head & chuckle at the silliness.
