How realistic are the representations of each country in EPCOT?

In Québec the main gripe about the previous Canada film was the awful, almost incomprehensible French of the female singer.

In all of Canada they couldn't find a singer who could speak remotely passable French? Imagine the English verses sounding something like 'Kanuda, yur a laiftaim journay fuh the twaffuller'.

The new version is terrific, and sounds great in both French and English. The singer is native American too, to make it a very inclusive affair this time!

I agree the fish and chips aren't as good as here but at least they've tried :)
The chips are good. The fish, well...

Perhaps Red Green could be used. I think we could all find offense if we went looking for it. If America was portrayed as cowboys, or street hoods, or Duck Dynasty guys, or Desperate Housewives, or Hollywood idiots, or politicians, we'd all be offended too. Personally, I'm surprised that more Mexicans aren't offended by the 3 CaBelleros.
And Red Green is a cliche and never represented anything more than a take off on a Sunday afternoon fishing show that itself was a cliche. I don't go looking for something offensive, it's shoved right in my face. There were more flattering things they could have picked that would also be much more representative our history.

I must add I always fall on the chocolate when I get there too. No offence to America but the chocolate doesn't cut it for me for I always end up forking out nearly $4 for a Flake or Ripple!

(Sweet Shop would be an awesome idea - love that suggestion)
If you want good chocolate you have to go to Hershey Park in Pensylvania.

Fine, but these never were traditional costumes. It's not like lumberjack outfits were some kind of cultural thing in Canada at all. I could understand if they were some kind of ethnic costume but they are and were never so. They are just a cliche that is offensive to me as a Canadian.

well you are in luck they have been updating all the costumes so hopefully Canada will get a better one.

I think ToyStorygirl was implying that American chocolate can't hold a candle to Cadbury or other foreign chocolates. As a person who has grown up with nothing but Cadbury and has frequently visited the US, I can understand where she's coming from. Hershey's just tastes cheap and artificial, but it's also much cheaper than any other chocolate.

:jawdrop:You all need to go to Hershey in PA and get the fresh stuff.

Foreign chocolate is too rich for my taste. It gives me a horrible stomach ache.

There is a reason Hershey chocolate is so much cheaper. They use a very low percent of cacao compared to other chocolates. However Hershey's tastes like childhood to me! I like Lindt chocolate best.

Ghirardelli is a premium American chocolate that holds it's own with the European chocolates.

And this is what most of the rest of the world thinks of when they think of Americans.

Fail. If you want great chocolate, you need to go overseas (e.g. Switzerland, Germany, France...).

American commodity chocolate sucks, whereas overseas even the "cheap stuff" is incredible.
I dislike overseas chocolate simply because it is too rich. Even American chocolate I can only take in small doses.

It's easy to find Lindt chocolate now, at least in the larger US cities. I don't bother bringing it back from Europe. But I still bring back other brands.
