How permanent will Pete's Silly Sideshow be?

I know it's a little too early to tell yet, but considering the concept art for Pete's Silly Sideshow, how permanent do you think it will be in comparison to, say, Toontown Hall of Fame?

Well seeing as how WDW seems to be getting ready to renovate A LOT of different areas both in MK and other parks, I would imagine pretty permanent.

  • They're the rumors of the plussing of Adventureland with 'Pirates' themed interactive areas
  • The entirety of Old Fantasyland seems to be getting a small facelift to tie into New Fantasyland with new brickwork
  • The whole on again off again Avatarworld in Animal Kingdom
  • The rumored 'Carsland' expansion in DHS
  • The rumored revamping of both the B&tB and LM stage shows in DHS
  • Tangled Bathroom Area
  • Princess Hall
  • Mine Train
Granted almost all of these are rumors, but they're highly reliable ones. There has been confirmation about a lot of ideas being thrown around about DHS. So they seem to be changing focus of their renovations. Granted PSS is not my favorite area in the expansion, it is growing on me by the minute every time I see a new picture. SBC is incredibly themed and seems A LOT more polished than Toontown was. It seems like the entire FLE is pretty solid with no major changes coming soon.

It'll probably stay there until they come up with a better idea for the space. The space doesnt warrant too much land, so it seems somewhat restricted to a meet and greet. I would personally love to see a scrambler like ride be placed in the tent with some Circus themeing, but again, im not an Imagineer.

The entire Mickey's Birthdayland and later Toontown Fair was INTENDED to be a temporary area, while this circus area is a planned area of the Fantasyland Expansion.

It should be as permanent as any other portion of the Circus area, other than Dumbo which has stood the test of time.

The space taken up by Storybook souvenirs and Pete's is about the same size as the mermaid building, so it seems logical that in the distant future that space will be used for a ride. However given how long the previous tents lasted and the 20k lagoon lasted - and how many other areas are being focused on or need attention - I think its safe to assume that it'll be in the far future.

Not to mention the fact they they would be unlikely to remove a major merchandise location.

Yeah, I cannot see Big Top Souvenirs ever going away (unless it is replaced by a different merchandise).

However, it does seem possible that they could put a ride in the Pete's Silly Sideshow tent. Either they could use just the tend and put a smaller ride (something with a footprint like the teacups) or they could use the tent as the queue and add a show building behind/north of the tent. It looks like there should be some room there besides the yellow tent.

What about the contents of this section, where you actually meet the characters? How permanent do they look?

Permanent is probably not the best word to use, but they put some money into making it look like it will be there for a long time.

Well said except for Pandora rumor. It appears to me they have added a path so that expansion of the circus is possible in the future behind Pete's.

They only thing that would have been better is if the circus could have been built in the area where the Galaxy Theater was with an entrance from MSUSA. Possibly with the new train station stop added also. Could be it would not have worked because of Space Mountain and sight lines.

Bottom line though, the circus at the MK is not leaving town anytime soon IMO.

This is my mindset as well. The theming and detail in Storybook Circus is vastly superior to what was in Toontown Fair. Considering we all know how much TDO loves spending money...... I highly doubt this area will be up for change anytime soon with the price tag that was involved with revamping this section of the park.

You cannot be talking about that trainwreck of an area I saw Monday night. It is cheap feeling, ugly, little no actual theme, feels very chopped for bottom line, and have I said ugly? SBC is a joke that Six Flags would not even go for.

So you won't see any other kinds of rotating meet-n-greets? Like those for characters advertised on the posters that they had scattered about the area? Say, for Pete, Pluto, Horace Horsecollar and Clara Cluck?

I'm hoping that once it is up and running, they will have some "guest" visits by Pete (with the boys) and Clarabel (withe the girls).
