How often would you go?

Going once a year has been a real sweet spot for us over the past 5 years or so. I'd be worried that going more often would introduce a little boredom .. plus a lot of the value we get is not from the parks but from the few hours we spend at the resorts in the afternoons and evenings, which we likely would not do if we lived closer. To each their own I suppose. Sounds great, but I wouldn't be brave enough to take the chance of ruining how we feel about WDW right now!

As someone who hasn't been to Disney in four years, I'm going to say that if I had the choice right now, I would go to Disney at least once a week. The weather, atmosphere and local people beat anything I have experienced here in Northern Ireland.

Hopefully when I finish university I can immigrate to the USA and make my dream a reality :p

Once a year, but not necessarily every year is enough. If I came too often it would no longer be 'special' to us.

If you lived within an hour of Disney World and had annual passes (premium/annual/seasonal/weekday... whichever), how often would you go? Do you think going too much could ruin the "magic"? How much is too much?

I actually think about that all the time. If we had the means, my wife and I would probably move to Kissimmee, so we could be about 15-20 minutes away from WDW and visit whenever we wanted. Annual passes are a no-brainer, but as far as the frequency of visiting there.......I think I could realistically see us going about 2-3 times a month. But we'd also have yearly passes to the other big Orlando parks and would spend time there as well. I don't think it would ruin the magic at all, but on the other hand there is something to be said for spacing out the visits so it doesn't get (for lack of a better term) "stale". Right now I'm about 2.5 years out from my last visit and I've had the itch to go for some time. I at least would have the chance - after this long gap - to see New Tomorrowland, Test Track 2.0, and the new interactive queues in MK.

My mom had a friend that lived in Celebration. Her and her husband would go every day, not doing doing the exact same thing everyday however. They were retired, and they would go for a little while and get a snack or dinner, people watch or just walk for some exercise. I believe they lived there for a couple of years.

I was local for a few years and would go, on average, once a week for a few hours. It was nice always having something to do but a big part of my enjoyment of WDW is the anticipation. We're planning our first trip back after leaving Florida just over a year ago and the excitement of going back and "doing Disney" as a full week trip again is much more enjoyable to me than it ever was going whenever I wanted.

I go to Disneyland numerous times a week, every week. Never gets boring for me.

That would be awesome! We live about an hour away, and are averaging once a week. We would probably go more if we lived closer :)

We've been annual passholders for 4 years now (no blackout dates) and did seasonal for 1 or 2 years before that. We live 2 1/2 hours away and last year we went about 8 or 9 times. 3 of the trips were for a week each, one of those three was for my daughter's wedding, two or three trips were long weekends, and the rest were single day or just one overnight stay. We still love going and are counting the days to our trip in late March. I don't feel like it's ruined the magic at all but has actually allowed us to calm down and relax and enjoy it all a lot more instead of killing ourselves to maximize every single mickey minute. We're more open to letting our plans flow a little more which I like. I felt it was easier for the times we'd decide to do a single day like the night before we'd say lets go in the morning kind of trip with the old fast pass system tho but that's another issue. It's also been nice when we have family or friends come down for disney trips and we'll catch up with them for a single day or sometimes group trips. It's just so different depending on who we go with we just don't get bored with it.

i would go as often as possible.for me it's not the parks that make it special it's the atmosphere.and the atmosphere changes every day by the guests and cast members and weather for that matter. you don't have to ride an attraction or do anything just being there is special.i would go every day if i could and would still love it.

I live an hour away, and going once a week would be overkill. We go about once or twice a month.

I'm pretty much leaving it up to my kids. We have been switching up which parks we go to- my 9 year old son loves Epcot and my 4 year old daughter loves Magic Kingdom. We are hopefully going to Animal Kingdom next week. I'm sure once the "newness" of it all wears off, it'll taper down. If not, maybe I'll finally be able to get there without my GPS on!

No wonder the parks are slam-packed year around and why TDO is taking more and more perks away from AP holders.

Why do they advertise them so heavily then? When I went two years ago, they were trying to up sell me the annual passes. At the time, it wouldn't have worked for us, so I declined. When I started looking in to AP for Christmas, the customer service rep was going on and on about how much better an AP is versus the Florida resident 3/4 day deal that always comes around. In our case, it definitely made more sense to pay an extra $70 a year for the weekday passes versus the 3 or 4 days that would need to be used by June.

As far as slam packed parks, I haven't experienced it yet, but I also am an early riser, so we get there shortly after rope drop and leave early afternoon. We are blocked out from going during the obvious busy times, which I am okay with.
