hello everyone
we are going in sept during the free dining and are receiving the free counter meal package
we want to upgrade and pay the difference for the table meal program
years past we did it when we booked our reservations but forgot to ask for it
i know they offer it during check in so thought we would do it then
does anyone know the extra charge per person to upgrade????

I have no idea what the answer to your question is, but it is totally worth upgrading! I cannot imagine going to WDW and not having the option of eating at their amazing restaurants (haters gonna hate).

Even if you don't decide to upgrade, you can always book a couple sit down meals. Some people dont like to upgrade because they don't like the idea of a sit down meal everyday. We love Disney dining and that's a huge part of our trip is the food so we upgraded.

I don't have free dining for my August trip and we initially booked the QSDP because we just wanted to go with the flow, as far as dining was concerned. Theeeeen...my husband decided he wanted to to the Spirit of Aloha show at the Polynesian. Well, once you pay OOP for that one meal alone, it's a small amount to upgrade the rest of our 8 days, so there you have it. (Of course, DH decided this at about 60 days out so I had to scramble to make ADRs.)

Basically, what I am trying to say is, it is worth it to upgrade if you think you are going to incorporate one or more "big-ticket" dining engagements into your plan. At least it was for us.

I would also double check the "at check-in" part. I know as a DVC member you have to pay for it no later than 48 hours (might be 72, but, I think 48) in advance of check-in. We can no longer add at check-in. I would double check.
